netservices plc

As a customer of naims id like to firstly give them my whole hearted support for leaving thier broadband supplier (netservices) because of thier shoddy service ,and secondly to express my utter disgust and contempt with the way netservices plc subsequently behaved.Naims broadband customers ,when connecting today were greeted with a forced advert warning users that thier broadband would be cut off very shortly and the only way to keep online was to use another of thier resellers.Id rather use dialup than touch a netservice network ever again.

Thanks for your words of caution.I really believe that netservices have acted very irresponsibly by doing this ,and i personally think it will backfire on them.To be greeted with a dubious page telling you that your broadband has been terminated but if you sign up with them ,youll be back on within the hour is beyond belief.Note that only that page can be accessed.

So how about Netservices continuing to furnish you with a service for the past XX months while disputes were going on with your ISP (V21) ?????

NS still kept your line alive yet V21 were continuing to take your money (sometimes more than they should have) while telling NS to stick their invoices up their backsides ?

Do you think that's irresponsible of NS ???

Put your sensible head on Wurzel, you know i'm right !

Sheddy, You write more confidently on the background to this than many posters, here and elsewhere. Do you know for a fact that the situation vis-a-vis V21, Biscit and NetServices is as you've described? Is there any more info you can give the rest of us?

malcarr.

1st off, I don't work for any company involved in this, i'm merely an onlooker, and if you look closely at my previous posts, I quite clearly say they're not whiter than white but they're also not as guilty as is being made out by people whose obvious only exercise is jumping to conclusions.

Lets just say i'm a really nosey sod and I ask questions to the right people. And my post above is accurate.

Don't feed the trolls ;)

I've been on these boards for years, i'm no troll and if you care to read my previous posts, I tried to help those who were walled-gardened

Well I bit the bullet and signed up with EzeeDSL. So far so good - service far better than recently from V21/Biscit. EzeeDSL's parent company seems to have serious money behind it so I imagine (wishful thinking?) would only use Netservices if it is satisfied with their service levels -http://www.186k.co.uk/

Have you read some of the reviews for ezeedsl they sound just as bad as all the others. who actually hold s the MAC code at this time and why as a gesture of good will to all the people who have been screwed over by the companies involved wont they release them.

If that is the length of time you class as "years" I've been here at least a millennium:laugh:
Or did you mean you lurked these boards for years but only joined one month after the date Biscit 'acquired' V21?
Perhaps you are known under another username that would corroborrate your 'years' of membership here? If so please tell.
:D

If its any help in Sheddy's defence I don't know who they are and I *HAVE* had an inside look at this case ;)

jockdownsouth, I hope EzeeDSL take care of you. Don't feel scared to ask them to look at your previous fault we had open with Netservices because its still the same backbone and BT connection, if they have good technical support they should be able to get Netservices to dig out the old ticket.

Thanks for that Stu. I don't know if EzeeDSL thought it through properly before going "live". Their FAQ's talked about a "seamless" changeover but failed to mention that users would need to input a new smtp server to be able to send emails. That led to a 90 minute wait on their support line!

Also those who didn't join up as an immediate response and are now looking into it again seem to be presented with a webpage showing a confusing array of packages without necessarily being able to sign up to the special V21 deal.

They could also do with setting up a User Forum!

I'm just relieved I'm connected with reasonable continuity and will face any additional problems as they arise. I'll certainly let the dust settle before asking them to look at my previous fault. Regular disconnections seem to be a general problem in our road so I'm thinking of distributing a questionnaire in an attempt to quantify it with a view to a mass approach to BT.

My V21 direct debit was due to be collected at the end of this week so I've been able to cancel it.

On a personal note, I sincerely hope that you, Paul, and the others affected get your redundancy pay through OK.

You and me both! I feel our departure was fairly amicable and the current dispute they have with Netservices is not because they are broke but just they don't want to pay NS for what they feel isn't due.

EzeeDSL seem to be an OK company and assuming they don't have any disputes with Netservices in the future you should be OK. As for them starting a forum its always a nice touch but rarer these days. If you get stranded there is always Paul's ispchatzone.co.uk forum to keep in the loop with all the others in your situation, an ISP running their own forum is much more work than you think and knowing the V21 forum it can very quickly become an attacking ground for any angry customer and things get out of control sometimes.

In our specific forums we already have one for EzeeDSL http://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/forumdisplay.php?f=568

That's interesting - I haven't noticed any changes yet. I first noticed that my V21 connection wasn't working properly at about half past five on Wednesday evening. I didn't try using the web first - first of all I tried collecting email, which didn't work. Then I tried connecting to the Open University FirstClass conferencing server, which didn't work either. At first I thought maybe it's a DNS problem, which I might be able to solve by reconfiguring my ADSL connection with DNS servers from other pay-as-you-go dial-up ISP's that actually work - but to test that theory, I needed to use another ISP to find out Google's IP address, and then switch back to V21 to try that IP address directly in my browser.

It was only after having tried to do this that I saw the EezeDSL page.

Since then, the EezeDSL page still loads, it seems to be pretty much the same as it was on Wednesday evening, though admittedly it loads a lot faster now than it did then. I don't think this is just because my browser has cached it, because I have tried other addresses since then, and I don't see how my browser can know that it's going to get the same web page for every possible address I might try.

I think that what's happened to jockdownsouth that since you have chosen one of the options offered to those using V21 connections, you no longer have access to the "walled garden" - and therefore you're only seeing the list of EezeDSL tariffs offered to the general public. But V21 customers who haven't bitten the bullet are still being given the same list of options today that they were given yesterday - at least that's what seems to be happening on my connection.

Thanks for the comment.

That would be the way to go.

Barely alive i would say.Thier network has continual packet loss and high loss of download speed.

very.

No aunt sally...your quite wrong.

Tried many many many many times to cancel v21 broadband and freetalk package. Since middle of september. I have called, e mailed, written letters. I don't get the service any longer. Yet my money is still taken out every month. I have tried to call V21/Biscit to ask what for an explanation, but no answer None what so ever. Then we have to contact net services and try and dispute with them about the service. Which i think V21 and Biscit should be doing. Also on their website it says 'V21 customers affected by this dispute will no longer be billed' I have been billed since october to the present and will continue to do so, as my membership is still active. Please advice what can i do. I have been let down by Biscit/V21 who no longer willing to take responsibility. Yet they take our Money.

first of all, keep a record of all emails, letter, phone calls etc - highlights the calls on your phone bill, send letters by recorded delivery etc.

Then I would cancel the direct debit.

If they threaten you, tell them you can prove you have cancelled your account, and if it goes to court, you can prove how difficult it was to get hold of them, therefore it was impossible to cancel.

You may have to go doen the cease & reprovide route though - don't hold out much hope of a MAC key.

That's what I would do, but I'm not a lawyer, so you may want to take advice from the CAB!

Incidentally, you are quite right - your contract is with V21/Biscit, not Netservices, therefore V21/Biscit are responsible for your service.
