NETWORK SPEC SPREADSHEET.

Talkmobile doesn't seem to have access to London Underground Wi-Fi.

I moved from Lebara to Talkmobile last month, but didn't notice this because I had a Three SIM in the phone. Removed it yesterday and today couldn't use Wi-Fi.

It's weird that Lebara can use it, but Talkmobile, owned by Vodafone, can't.

Would a free Vodafone/3/EE PAYG sim card work?

It should say "Available via Vodafone" underneath the network name.

The other networks are not the same as they don't show this message. I ended up just forcing myself onto "EE WiFi-Auto” by spamming it and now it just auto connects whenever I'm in range. I did the same for "WiFi Extra" too. Sometimes it fails to autoconnect but give it a minute or two and it'll keep on trying and will hook on eventually.

Honestly, connecting to the underground WiFi feels like witchcraft. I don't know the conditions and I believe my MVNO SIMs shouldn't be able to connect anyway (Tesco + 1p). It feels like I'm casting spells to get onto it lol

Not sure when they changed things but small EE-based MVNO IQ Mobile seem to have launched eSIMs that are emailed directly to you.

Won't be trying them myself as the pricing isn't competitive and the 3-month minimum terms are not ideal. Most interesting feature is probably no EU data roaming limit but given other options are cheaper with this, still the not the most competitive. EU roaming zone also includes the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Monaco, Switzerland, Faroe Islands and Sint Maarten (apparently).

Appears to offer VoLTE and Wifi Calling so hopefully has B20 access too?

Had an ad for this one pop up on my Instagram feed today.

Pricing looks pretty uncompetitive, but they do offer eSIM, VoLTE and EU roaming.

Had to look around for several minutes to find out they're powered by EE, seems to only say it on their homepage.

Doesn't seem to have many customers, their Android app shows only "100+ downloads" with 0 reviews.

I see what you mean tre3, not good value at all.
Amazing all these EE piggybackers springing up lately that we've never heard of before. :giggle:

Poor @Bubblesthefish6 more to add to his spreadsheet.

Amazing customer service, what a surprise. 😁

Three payg roaming update:

On the spreadsheet it says inclusive to Eu and atw

It is only inclusive for 24 hours to both eu and atw then youll need an add on according to threes roaming checker.

Atw extra is excluded from payg
@Bubblesthefish6
Huh?? Only inclusive for 24hr?!

Edit, I’ve read the website and I think it’s just the way it’s worded, since there would be a charge every 24hr for pay monthly. It’s saying that this charge doesn’t apply for pay as you go.

Phew don't give me heart attacks lol I want Three PAYG to last 😂

Had another random MVNO pop up in my Facebook ads yesterday... Called Inspire Telecom. Very little info other than it's a Three MVNO, doesn't even appear to have a rates page so no idea about roaming etc.

I'm with SPUSU and on my Samsung S23 I've started to see the HD icon on calls, so looks like they may have activated HD calling. Call quality does sound better then it did previously but not as good as when I was with Smarty.

I think someone said this before, your carrier profile might be showing HD calling when it's not actually HD calling.

Can't remember where, probably in the Spusu threads but Spusu would have to go out of their way to make agreements with other networks for HD calls.

The HD icon just means your codec is AMR-WB. I've tried Spusu-Lebara before and Spusu showed AMR-WB but Lebara showed AMR-NB and the call wasn't HD no matter what Spusu show. So obviously they were transcoding IMS-IMS. Lebara is on the Vodafone core IMS and gets AMR-WB and EVS (HD+) just like Vodafone users.
Many EE MVNOs run their own IMS, perhaps there is a ready-made cloud service they all use. Lycamobile, like Spusu show HD but it isn't if you go off their IMS instance.

Just as a bit of an update to complete everything to do with CMLink's row on the spreadsheet. I can confirm that 5G and VoLTE both work while roaming. London underground WiFi does not, even if you try to use SIM authentication. eSIM is in the late stages of testing and ready to be released to all soon.

Ecotalk SIM is expected to arrive today hopefully, after being dispatched first class yesterday. So I should be posting back soon with a full report on them and their features to accurately complete that row of data too.

Thankyou ever so much. I am just on my way home so will pull out the thinkpad and update it when I get there.

I noticed CMLink on the spreadsheet states "NO FUP"

However, i was just checking out CMLink's website and i can see they state their Fair Usage policy for unlimited tariffs as below:

"This Fair Use Policy (“Policy”) forms part of your Agreement with CMIUK and applies where you subscribe to our Services."

"While using a bundle with “Unlimited” allowance (including “Unlimited” data, voice & SMS), CMI UK will closely monitor the volume of your usage. If CMI UK reasonably believes that your usage is harming our network or other customers’ access or use of our network, your usage will be considered as a breach of this Fair Usage Policy. Regularly tethering to 12 or more devices or regularly using unreasonably large amounts of data are prohibited, including but not limited to using around 650GB of data twice or more within a 6-month period. If CMIUK suspects a breach of this Fair Usage Policy, CMIUK is entitled to further investigate your usage to ascertain whether your usage is in line with this Fair Usage Policy and further steps will be taken if necessary, which include but not limited to suspension or termination of the Services without prior notice."

Not gonna lie, that sounds similar to O2's unlimited FUP
