NETWORK SPEC SPREADSHEET.

Not "funky", it's just a standard (hard) credit check, just unusual these days for SIM only... Although the big 4 still do them for SIM only as well, as far as I know too.

I think compared to the MNO’s they’re regarded as harsh whereas the 4 have lower requirements.

What about Talk Home Mobile? Who are they really, another Lycamobile? They have a 1p plan like 1p Mobile and other cheap plans but I was baited by a non-existent 1p 5GB trial.

MSE currently have the above deal Mobyle, I'd change from Spusu if they offered eSIM, great price for 5 GB, hopefully it's not speed capped.
(They do state it isn't)

I'm cancelling Spusu after the 3 month £1 offer because I can't do unhindered speed tests. :(

Actually I might just order a SIM at that price, will save me taking the Scancom EE SIM out of the soap dispenser.(y)

I just had a wee Talkhome L'Oréal moment there.
(Because I'm worth it)☺️

O2 and Vodafone share sites across the country.

In the West of England, Wales and West Scotland, Vodafone manages the majority of the sites on behalf of both networks.

In the East of England, Northern Ireland and majority of Scotland, O2 manages the majority of the sites on behalf of both networks.

In some cities, the networks may manage their sites individually (known as unwind), such as: Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Hull, Greater London, Greater Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Here's the map for reference:

It's gonna be fun to see how this turns out if VF and 3 will be allowed to merge

I'd avoid them if roaming is important due to the "promotional data" roaming issue. iD is probably a better bet (plus larger EU roaming limit). Also iD's data rollover is a hugely underrated benefit especially for lower users and people who occasionally have spikes in use!

Giffgaff is a joke these days, there is barely any reason to be on them. And I was one of their very early customers too (I remember when a big part of their "ethos" was they wouldn't advertise, word of mouth referrals only...) - back when I had a Nokia 6300 in school - I was tempted by the zero rating of SMS to Twitter and Facebook. Got loads of friends on them too so we could text each other for free too... those were the days eh.

Whatever they go for there are plenty of decent 1 month plans to try things out, I wouldn't sign up to any longer contracts with a new network for sure.
Totally... I think a lot of their users (like me in the past) just still think that their prices are competitive. In fairness to them, their service was very reliable and international calls were pretty cheap, too (and you could get cashback by just posting on their forums a few times a year)

There's also a £1.49 deal for 3 months then £4.99 for 10GB if that interests you Mobyle, great prices for EE I must say. :)

According to the spreadsheet (unless I read it wrong), they don't offer VoLTE nor WiFi calling? :(
I'm just after the data Jasonm so not a problem, but thanks for pointing that out. :)

This is another crap EE MVNO. When I signed up for the Welcome deal I was given the 1p PAYG plan. I suspect its all bait and switch when you sign up for one of their deals you don't get them and just pay for one of their normal plans but the reviews are mainly bad.

I got the deal offered on MSE just fine Mobyle, I went for the £1.49 deal then after 3 months it's my magic £5 figure.

Can't complain at that for 10GB. :)

I'm not interested in the calls though, just the data. 😊

I saw your post.

I have one of the 1p plan SIMs in the mail at the moment, the email says it's on the right plan, we'll see once it gets here...

I've used them before and they were just "ok" - decent speeds and EE network of course, but missing a lot of features and customer service a bit questionable. Probably not Lyca levels though.

I asked them a question (Using their ticket system) before I signed up and got a reply after 15 minutes, was honestly not expecting a reply until Monday, was impressed with the speedy response. :)

I'm going to stick with Spusu and BNEsim for my second phone. Their not being UK companies seems to be a big advantage in terms of reliability and support. I'm using a Three Scancom sim on my main phone as I am making calls through voip (Devyce Xpatfone).

I've had the 4GB for 1p, 50GB £6.50 and 100GB for £7.99 all for three months each. I'm only planning to switch now because their long term prices are not the best (for high data amounts) and I don't want to keep doing port dances.

Whilst I dislike the fact they don't have WiFi call or VoLTE, their billing system worked fine for me and I got the plan ordered.

I just went to their web page and the deal was there. I didn't get it through UKHD or MSE. Anyway I finally got a response from customer service and got fobbed off. This isn't the first time a glitch website messed up my signup.

When they removed Switzerland from their EU roaming list, they also accidentally removed Austria and Belgium on their website (which happen to be the first 2 alphabetically). I questioned this with their customer service and they initially insisted that EU roaming wasn't avaliable in those two countries anymore - until I kept pressing and they agreed it was an error (and corrected it)

Got there in the end though so not that bad a reflection really.
