New ISP - Post Office or O2 Recommendations?

Rpoints will match other people's cashback offers, so that'll be £25 then. :) That's more than 3 months of the £7 a month off deal equalled then. :D Now all I have to do is decide whether to wait till next month for my free month or not. :D

Akbray, How much is YOUR soul worth?

akbray, If you were dissatisfied with Orange before they offered the new deal you'll be just as dissatisfied if you accept it and you will be STUCK with them for another whole year.

Stick to your principles; don't let them outmanoevre you!
How much is your soul worth?

Hmmm, now I have a dilemma. Phoned up to cancel Orange, and they offered me 6 months free on a 12 month contract. I was really looking forward to moving, but not sure I can afford to turn it down. :D They've given me another month free to think it over.

Yes - that's why I point out the problems:

I have to admit that 6 months free would be tempting, but then if it goes wrong you are likely to be way down their klist of priorities - firstly because you have a 12 month contract, and second because you aren't giving them any money.

I'm not exactly telling eeeekkk to go for it, am I!

:) ok. I think it's fair to say we agree about Orange!

Well, I finally did it. :D I'm just waiting for my MAC to arrive, she said she was sending it immediately by email, so hopefully it'll be here soon. God they are desperate, it was a terrible line but she seemed to be offering me £9.99 a month with 6 months free! I told her it wasn't the price, it was the reliability I was moving for, and pointed out that my usually 4mb line is running at 1.6-2mb in the evenings until I go to bed, when it magically speeds up! :D I said I'd only stay if there was no contract as I didn't trust them to be consistent, and I declined the chance to experience their tech support ever again. :D

Obviously Orange's definition of immediately is different to mine. I just phoned to chase it up, apparently if it isn't here by Sunday I should ring them again. Now I've finally decided to do it, I want to leave now. And speaking to the callcentres trying to get the MAC does not do anything at all to persuade me otherwise.

I've been connected with O2 since this afternoon, very happy so far. :) I'm connected at the same speed as before according to the speedtest, but the pages are loading noticeably faster. Also, my speed didn't drop massively just because it is the evening. The migration was very straightforward, with plenty of information provided at each step. If Orange could work like this, I might've considered staying! :D

Well done eeeekkk, I am suffering similar problems to you with orange. My speed is only .500 and have been with Orange since the freeserve/wanadoo days. I could go on and on about the outrages way they have treat me. The endless phonecalls and frustration/sleepless nights worrying about it all. They even gave me 3 free months free for my inconvienence.:hrmph:
I pay £17.99 per month for their on/off service. I've finally asked for my mac code and because I have no contract, hopefully, with be done with orange for good. I was also undecided about a new provider, however, I now have to make up my mind quickly as I have received the code this morning. I am signing up with o2 and hope I have a trouble free connection for the next12 months. Addios orange it has not been a pleasure in the least being with you.
