New ISP

Hi, I am looking for a new ISP. I am currently with TalkTalk residential 80/20.

I have been looking at TalkTalk Business for the similar deal I am currently on. Has anyone here had issues with TalkTalk Business taking over a TalkTalk residential connection without any issues or downtime?

I have also tried Uno Broadband – but they for some reason cannot take over the line after speaking to their sales people on the phone yesterday. I know the line may need to be converted over? I did speak to someone on the online chat about a week ago who mentioned this. I may have been speaking to Matt at the time as sales were closed.

Any other suggestions on a good ISP?

Thanks for any help.

You could check out this article, particularly page 2 for the quality options.

As for moving between TT and TTB, I can't see any problems there as it's the same underlying network platform. In fact it would be comically bad if there were problems.

Thanks for the information. I have gone with TalkTalk Business. The only issue I have found now is I have not had any info back from TalkTalk Residential saying "sorry you are leaving" emails or anything like that. I hope I'm not going to have issues with them?

It may be a different process because it's an internal transfer instead of a new ISP takeover. You're kind of just switching brands internally rather than the actual supplier?

Yeah I'd imagine they might treat that as a package change within the same group, but it's an interesting question. I'd ask them about it in writing, just to confirm that you're not going to end up in a silly situation with double billing etc.

Thanks again for the help. Good points raised. My switchover is on 17/09/2020. So before I contact them I will make sure the switchover happens first then contact them. I will update here with more details if I encounter issues. Hopfully not.
