New Three 5G Hub (NR5103E)

I'm new here, but I've been following the topic a long time ago this message appears "the maximum login account number has been reached." How to solve this problem.
It seems to be related to the method you usually use to close the local web GUI of the router. If it happens that you close it simply shutting the browser tab (click on "x") or closing the whole browser, then this error is much easier to come out. It's better to close the web GUI clicking on "Logout".

My old Huawei B525 & B535 had this problem too - just terminating the session by closing the browser (or stopping the Huactrl app on my phone), left the login session active. You had to wait for a period of time before you could login again or else reboot the router.

Thank you very much for your help, yes, I had already read the explanation you gave online, and I started doing as you say and it seems to work well.

One more help, I have an XPOL-2 antenna just for 4G, which I used on the Huawei B315, I'm waiting to receive pigtails, is there any possibility of this antenna improving the 5G signal?

The blurb on the Poynting website would suggest it only provides a gain on 698-2700MHz (so not 5G):

They have a newer version XPOL-2-5G which covers 617-4200MHz

so it seems likely your current antenna will provide little or no gain. But I suppose it's worth trying anyway.

It’s simply information I gathered through reading just about every single post on this forum. 🤣. There has been others mentioned but the people who posted this config have been very helpful throughout the forum pages and I trusted their judgement.

I’ve not actually tried any other configuration I just followed the advice of buying 4 pigtails and using this:

Port 1 (Top) - X-Pol2
Port 2 - bunny ear (so not to leave open port)
Port 3 - X-Pol
Port 4 (Bottom)- bunny ear

The bunnies are from an old device. As I say ; other configurations maybe fine/ work better I have no idea as this was so, so, good.
Is your Xpol antenna already ready for 5G? Or is it still one of those that only works on 4G?

Not 5G band N78, but can work with other frequencies, whether the router uses that as LTE or 5G, that's another story - it's a bit incorrect to say "no 5G".

Bought one of these (Zyxel NR5103EV2) yesterday from CC for £79.00 they have another one https://www.cashconverters.co.uk/sh...k-routers--adapters/modem-router/018200283240

I like CeX's warranty but their prices are just silly now on most things.

My CC V2 was mint condition but could never have been properly checked over as wasn't reset (press tiny little button on base for 5secs) and all the passwords were changed from default.

Just messing about with it the now and very pleased with it. I also have a Zyxel NR5103E coming from CC (£99.00) too just to play around with things to see which I prefer.

Massive thanks to everyone who's posted information on this thread (yes, I read the 159 pages over several days) especially to The Wee Bear (I wish you the best 5G soon!) and h4x0rm1k3 for the top tip about getting the Zyxel app to work on V2.

So, I'll be testing and will continue reading this thread.

Thanks again :)

Oh you deseve an award for reading this thread L-T-E. 😊
Glad you're enjoying tinkering, hope your 'soap dispenser' arrives soon, it'll be interesting to see your results comparing them.

Have fun, let us know how you get on.👍

V2 speed May 1st 2024.webp

Got that on my first test with the NR5103EV2. Rock solid so far.

I've been testing my 5G on my Samsung mobile for about a month to check 5G is viable here. I'm on Vodafone and they show no 5G here really but it just happened to pop up on my mobile one day as my wi-fi dropped getting into the car. I'm hoping to move completely to 5G and use a switch throughout the house. Wi-Fi 6 too is handy. On my Samsung Note 10+ 5G I get about 110MBPS in the same spot using the same 5G SIM.

Got my NR5103E also mint condition it's definitely the 6000 SUX of 5G routers it's an awesome bit of kit for sure. Bigger is better :D

I'll post my test result on the NR5103E soon.

Vodafone are doing a great £20.00PM offer for present customers for their Unlimted Max service. I already have it on my mobile but it's obviously a great offer if you get Vodafone 5G in your area. I have 3 but it's very poor.

The offer is in the tile in My Account offers for me:

I've been hammering my other 5G Max SIM for over a year no problems.

Does anyone have any 'experience' of the accuracy of Vodafone's 5G coverage maps - are they overly optimistic, pessimistic or a work of fiction?

Supposedly I'm right on the edge of their "limited" 5G coverage, with it due to improve to "good indoor/outdoor" coverage (still on the edge though) in the next 3 months.

So I bought a Three branded NR5103eV2 on eBay, hoping that I might get some intermittent 5G signal. I didn't, the router just sits at "Excellent" 4G+ from my local non-5G enabled mast (direct line of sight).

I hoped with a directional 5G antenna, I might be able to get a 5G signal, even if only fleeting. So rather than spend £££ on some dodgy bit of copper etched PCB housed in a fancy weatherproof box, I decided to have a go at building an Andrew McNeil 5G +9bB antenna out of 0.5mm sheet brass (see photo).

I don't have Andrews aptitude for precision & accuracy, or all the right tools (like a band saw!), so my efforts were somewhat suboptimal. Still, I thought they would be good enough to see some difference.

I bought two SMA 'extension' cables & chopped one end off each and soldered it to the antenna & connected the other ends to two TS9 pigtails which I plugged into the back of the router and flicked the INT/EXT switch.

Needless to say, I didn't get any instant 5G fix and with only that rudimentary 'Zyxel Air' app to give me any kind of chart tracking RSRP & RSRQ, it was kind of difficult to tell if there was any improvement in my existing 4G+ signal. Possibly there was a 1-2dB improvement, but it was difficult to tell and as I already get an excellent 4G+ signal, it all seemed a bit pointless having lumps of brass & wires hanging all over the windowsill (at least if 5G was going to remain elusive).

Then I got annoyed, as my hour of fiddling, adjusting, plugging & unplugging, ended up bending & then snapping off the tiny little central pin in one of my TS9 pigtails! What idiot thought these stupid little connectors were an improvement on SMA!?

Anyway, I've given up on 5G for now & will resign myself to waiting months more for Vodafone to upgrade my local mast.

However, one question I do have for those with a Vodafone 5G service:

Should the APN for Vodafone pay-monthly contract be:

wap.vodafone.co.uk
wap/wap
PAP
IPv4

or

internet
web/web
PAP/CHAP
IPv4

Does it matter?

Hi smithbill17,

Can't speak for other areas, but the Vodafone coverage has me in a limited area, but I get no 5G at all anywhere in the town until I enter the red area on the map.

Most of the town has a good outoors or limited coverage on the map, but I've yet to see 5G working at all in these non red areas.🤷‍♂️

Oh gosh - you're in Kilwinning, my Dad lived there. I'm from Troon. Small world!

I'm hoping the Vodafone 'planned (3 months)' coverage map is implemented sooner, as it puts me into a red area (just) rather than the hopeless pink area.

I just checked the Vodafone 'planned (3 months)' map for your area - there is significant improvement due around Stevenson & Dalgarven.

Hello Troon from Kilwinning 🙋‍♂️ 😊

Yes lots of red appearing for Kilwinning too in the future coverage, but I'm still in the hopeless pink unfortunately, so it will still have to be EE for my best speeds I think.:)

Yes the red addition around Kilwinning is quite dramatic if it all comes to fruition smithbill17.

There are ony 3 Vodafone masts in Kilwinning, the one with 5G at the bottom of the town, Kilwinning Abbey and the monopole near me in Whitehirst Park Road, none of which are in the 3 months 5G coverage additions unfortunately.:(

Difficult to isolate but 4G might give an even better signal if the router is set to 4G-only and not hunting for a 5G signal. Anyone confirm?

Background - when playing with EE I can get an excellent strength n28 but awful speed, so locking to n78 instead I can get better speeds the odd time it connects to a distant mast. When n78 5G was absent I ran a few speed tests with the router set to 4G and 5GNSA/4G. YMMV.

I messed up and ordered the nr5103 non E variant. It said it's a 3 network version though.

I've reached out to cancel, but if it does show up does this version still not support band locking, or has that been patched?

I think it's just the same GUI wise Slammy, I'm sure it'll still feature band locking. :)

The V2 router is an E version too though, and a lot smaller though and has 2 less antenna sockets and a slower ethernet speed.

It's a bit confusing because there's also a non E variant which is for EE, that router doesn't have band locking, I have one of these too.

Some sellers don't actually bother with the E in their listings, so you might still be OK if it says it's three branded.
