New Three 5G Hub (NR5103E)

Sponsored Links
I've taken the plunge and ordered one on a 1 month contract. I'll cancel at the end of the month n see if I can keep it. Not too fussed if I cant, arent gonna complain about a month of 5G broadband for £24 lol
Just went to order one and you do have to return when you cancel the contract - didn't say the cost though if you do keep it!

For 5G customers

If you cancel during the 14-Day Money Back Guarantee period, you’ve got 14 days to return the hub or you’ll be charged the full cost of replacing the hub, currently £350

The above is still on their website, so I guess this is roughly what they'll want, that is if they don't forget about you. 😊

mine got delivered to my neighbors and I'm just waiting for them to get back home to pick it up from them. I'll update you all when I get it ,👍🏻

Also from this thread https://www.ispreview.co.uk/talk/threads/ee-5g-router-zyxel-5103-busted.38523/ looks like we will have the same issue with the ts9 ports, no idea what genuis keeps coming up with having these ports soldered without at least securing them with a locknut against the chassis

That's a bit tricky, TS9 connectors are tiny and fragile and invariably only mounted by soldering to a PCB -- which is why they use them, cheap and easy to assemble.

SMAs would be a much better choice, but are also more expensive and need extra assembly steps (cost again) to solder them to the PCB and secure them to the chassis. Since the external ports are only used by a tiny number of people, Zyxel obviously decided it wasn't worth doing this.

That's very inconsiderate of them leaving before you got home Bubbles, how very dare they do that.;)

This hub is driving me batshit crazy.... just got it out of the box, no sim..... great start. need to call three but no sweat, ill use my £3 a month sim. Put it in and it will not connect to 5G. At all. Ever. It just won't do it, and i dont know why. My phone can see 5G NR at about -69dBm but the router sees nothing. Don't know what to do with it.

Well that's about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike if you have 5G Bubbles, wonder what the problem could be.

Nowt to do with the antenna switch, I guess youve switched that a billion times already. 😊

No 4G only setting guff in the UI?

I've searched the web UI high and low... there's a band selection feature which I set to B3 B32 n78. This was set to auto before and it was choosing B3+B1 which was abysmal for speed. With 3+32 4G+ I can at least get 150 down 30 up which is a bit of an improvement on my 50 25 with the B535 at about this time

Trying to keep up with posts, what firmware is it running?

Have you tried a SIM from another network?

It can't be locked.

I'm curious if the APN profile is broken, Smarty may not fair any better as they are basically three.

I've changed the APN to three.co.uk IPv4/6 auto select. Also, the APN can't be broke as there's another guy on here with 5G connected running the same router.
