No connection DSL line down!!!

helo there, hope someone can help me as i am at the end of my tether with my ISP Pipex.

i have had no problems picking up my internet with my wireless laptop through their router they supplied me with for the last 6 months until 3 weeks ago it just stopped working saying "no dsl line connected" when i try to get on web.

after 20 pounds in phone calls later i am no further forward. i have had a new router from them and its not that, they now tell me that its BT fault (who are my telephone provider) BT say that Pipex have to do the necessary tests to see if it is the line. house telephone works fine by the way.

please can someone help me i dont know where else to turn to, i am sick of going backwards and forwards with them.

thanks

vikkee

Hi Vikkie

Welcome to ISPreview a few quick questions to ssee if we can sort this or get you pointed into the right direction for help.

First who do you pay your line rental to?
2.
Do you have any problems with the phone when calling people or recieving calls?

If you pay BT and have issues with this side then it is BT you call.

Now lets see if we can solve the problem a few more questions sorry but the answers are what will help find the problem.

What lights are on the router?
Which router is it?
Have you tried connecting to the router with cable?

Now I pray this isnt the problem since sorting this out would be near on impossible.
You do know Tiscali bought Pipex out and have been moving pipex customers onto Tiscali LLU is your exchange Tiscali LLU enabled if so they might have been migrating you over and lost you in the mess.

Might be worth contacting pipex and telling them you are going to contact their ADR send copy letter to Pipex, pipex ADR scheme Ofcom and trading standards get your mac and fins a new ISP. Remember to send all letters registered post so they have to sign for them especially pipex.

And keep the reciepts!

HI I PAY BT FOR MY LINE RENTAL, NO PROBLEMS WITH THE PHONE LINE AT ALL. ROUTER IS A SPEEDTOUCH 585 LIGHTS ON ROUTER ARE POWER LIGHT GREEN AND SOLID. WLAN RED AND SOLID AND DSL GREEN BUT FLASHING. I HAVE ALSO TRIED CONNECTING TO ROUTER USING ETHERNET NO DIFFERENT.

THANKS

Hi Vikkee

Then you cannot deal with Bt since the only part they have a contract with you for is phone line and voice, all contact has to be with Pipex.

First the ADSL light flashing donates that ADSL isnt present it is trying to connect.

Which moves us to the options that Tiscali might have moved you to their LLU DSLAM and lost you in the move, or the DSLAM at the exchange is faulty.

Can you access the routers logs and see what the message is?
