Nord VPN Free for 2 years

Some members may disagree but it was no brainer for me.

Taken the free 3 month trial for the Revolut premium account normally £7
I didn’t order a physical bank card so no costs to outlay.

The accounts benefits includes free Nord VPN by issuing a free referral code.

You can cancel the Revolut at anytime..I’m gonna use it on my summer holiday June then cancel.
You can cancel easily from the app.
I didn’t have to link any other bank accounts or deposit any funds.

I’ve just installed and tested Nord versus my Windscribe vpn and speeds are slightly quicker so was worth a punt.

👍

Both NordVPN and Revolut are dodgy ********, I am not surprised at this collaboration.
I'm staying well away from both.
Seriously Lucian?

I thought Nord was the most established vpn tbh.
I’ve only ever used Windscribe.

To be fair I’ll only be using to exchange currency but I have a chase and starling aswell ..lol

Not as bad as Monzo, randomly freezing people’s accounts and refusing to release their funds back to them.

They are very well established.. but first, let me talk a bit about this week's video sponsor, NordVPN! :)

The only mainstream provider I can recommend is Mullvad, but I do not use them either, prefer to run my own stuff.

I wasn't aware of anything sketchy between the two companies? First time learning it.

Had NordVPN a while ago but I'm doing just fine with my Windscribe (five-eyes sure is great though).

Anyways back to watching today's segment of "this video is sponsored by NordVPN"

Confused, title says nordvpn free for 2 years, then post talks about revolut.

I think VPN pricing in general is horrible, tend to be massively inflated for short contracts. They make the UK broadband industry seem like saints in comparison.

Same as the anti-virus model, £20 per year and hope enough people forget to cancel at the end of 12 months when we bump it to £80 per year

Mullvad are done as no longer allow port forwarding. AirVPN all the way now until they get hammered with p2p users.

That’s usually due to people messing with the KYC, i have no sympathy for them.

i spend mainly from monzo but still get paid into my Natwest account and go from there (split between monzo for spending and starling for bills).

revolut is the sketchiest of the sketch.
have a mate at virgin money and they were fined a few million quid for allowing certain faster payments to revolut without doing “further” checks (everyone knows revolut is dodgy, even the FCA).

As an ex-partner in a business which used Revolut For Business, I am quite surprised about this. The number of times they asked us for further information about transfers, both incoming and outgoing, was genuinely annoying. One time they even asked about a transaction that was two years old at that point.

What do you mean by dodgy?

I use revolut for the disposable cards, and the banking facility seems otherwise the same as someone like Lloyds, including raising disputes, they refunded a payment for me to parcel2go who had no means of contacting them to deal with a parcel stuck in a black hole.

It isn’t the banking app it’s self, at least directly, some of the dodginess comes from their customer service. There have been so many instances of their indian based customer service reps then going and finding your details, contacting you on personal social media and trying to scam you off the pretense that you contacted revolut customer services.

there’s much more wrong with them, but that’s the no1 thing that comes to mind when i think revolut. so corrupt it’s unreal.

Edit

Yes you can add to an existing nord account, but according to Revoult`s terms and conditions, you loose any premium benefits if you stop paying for premium i guess that means that you will lose the two-year extension to your Nord Vpn account. Personally, i won't use Revoult premium for anything else, so they can take those extra two years Nord VPN off me if they want too

Revolut is dodgy, it's not even a bank in the UK, its banking licence is held in Lithuania, make of that what you will. It seems to be a go-to for people who want the banking equivalent of a throwaway Reddit username. If you view its website, you won't see the word "bank" anywhere because they aren't allowed to call themselves one.

I'm not against the newer banks, I switched my banking to Starling a while ago and they've been excellent so far, with a quality app, quick customer service and generally a good customer experience. I keep my savings in an account with a big established building society, but I pay my salary into and do my day-to-day banking through Starling.
