O2 - 1 GB Data - Unlimited Calls / Texts (£2.99 Via Uswitch)

Not bad folks, bear in mind it's a 12 month contract, boo hiss!:giggle:
Good for low data users though. (y) :giggle:

This Offer has now ended.

Same price range as Spusu Special 1, but not quite as good, still, reasonable offer.
We can start to feel the black Friday and xmas approaching, right? :)
Depends, my main network (for data mainly but has calls and texts) is EE.

I wouldn't want a second EE or EE based line.

Initially I went for VF, but basically no longer works here so have gone for this.

But I do agree the Spusu one is a better proposition because of inclusive calls to Europe if you need them otherwise I am less sure unless o2 is pants where you are which is possible.

Also no yearly price rises.

O2: main issue is next April's price rise that you are stuck with.

Spusu: lower quality calls/routing issues but less overage and no long contract.

That’ll do my auld man he’s out of contract as only uses less than 1 gig a month 😁
He'd have to definitely need the O2 network though, as there are equivalent or better deals on others. e.g.

Lebara (on Vodafone) via MSE: no contract, £1.45 for months 1-6, £4.40 thereafter, works out at £2.93 per month over 12 months.

RWG mobile (on Three, used to be EE): 1 year 2GB data (inc EU) / 250 mins / 250 texts for £38.00 one-off payment, currently offering 10% discount in October, works out £2.85 per month. Or two years without EU roaming for £50 (less 10%), works out £1.88 per month. I have the two-year-with-EU version of this. It took them a few days to fix my roaming when I went abroad, but it was done eventually.

Needs more than 250 minutes has an iPhone 13 and basically just uses WiFi always has his data on, and where we live O2 is the best network for indoor reception except from EE at his house but grudge paying their prices

12 months commitment and the price increases is not for me. I’ll stay with my RWG 1 year plan. Gives you more data as I use it as a back up sim.

Kind of works, it’s not possible to be anything other than a low data user
On O2 🤣
Oh I don't know, I managed to use 4Mb last month Paul G, that's quite a lot for O2. (y) :giggle:

To be fair there is a couple of fast spots in London, I generally don’t even bother to check though I just use Vodafone / Scancom EE for data. Only time I ever use O2 data is when I’m roaming and
It’s not O2
I was exaggerating a wee bit, just a tad though. :giggle:
Only time I use O2 data is for speed tests, my main data use for everything else when out and about, is good old Three, in the house it's EE via Scancom.:)

My previous long-term service provider was Virgin Mobile and I was able to make their 1 GB and 2 GB contracts work because it was just enough data for Google Maps during the commute to work and data roll-over gave me wriggle room. My price increases were pretty light because even a high percentage of a small number is pretty small, and I was able to reduce the cost back to roughly the pre-increase level by asking for the cheapest available contract on renewal.

I'm happy that O2 is offering this as it's likely to benefit some people and historically I've found O2 to be solidly good for reception in the places I have needed it.

During the transfer from Virgin Mobile to O2, I noticed there was a pretty high barrier to entry/price to get on O2 with EE perhaps just a little pricier. Once with a network, data allowances typically increase on contracts as the network tries up to upsell customers and a balance can be found between affordability and sufficient data.

It's gone.
Was it any good?
I'm still on my 10GB for £5 (Now £5.44), which they seem to have never repeated since I got it. 🤷‍♂️
