Paints a sad picture on the level of parenting...
IMHO phones should be banned in school, anyway.
I won't say phones are completely bad, they're a good research tool (e.g. some teachers allow the use of ChatGPT or Copilot to research) and they're good for listening music on (e.g. place I'm at is generally relaxed on music and since my library is all local, I can't stream it from a laptop lol).

This is an interesting discussion. So teachers allow the use of research via phones in an active class?

And in your opinion, given the context of this thread re iphones, poverty, marginalisation etc, would you say phones during school are more good than bad or the other way around?

Would you say having them banned from schools would lead to an overall worse situation than the current one?

Also, perhaps if you could answer with a bit if hindsight from your earlier years, too, that'd be useful.

I have decided to ditch my O2 eSim and roll back to plastic.

I keep noticing my phone hang onto or roll down to the 3G far more often than my work contract plastic sim.

I decided to give my Tesco mobile sim a go to a few locations where I see 3G frequently and low and behold, it was rare I saw it.

I will report back my findings.

Now that the Whitehirst Park Road mast is on the go again, it's nice to see O2 back to its speedy self again. (y)😁

Had some spare time since a friend was running late 🤣. n28 SA outside the station, definitely weak but usable anyway
Probably won’t be when 30,000 people are in the city center!

I see O2 have a couple of site upgrades planned on the outskirts of the city.

O2 still as abysmal as ever when connected to 104117, that mast needs serious capacity boosts

Sure, it's not in the middle of the city centre but it needs B1 or B8... gonna end up playing with Seeek or Firsty soon
Seeek seems even worse actually (connected to Three)

Cell locking needs to be a feature on non-rooted devices

New o2 SIM arrived. Packaging had R15 SA on it so hopefully this will resolve the issue of me being unable to connect to SA.
The swap was super easy just sent a text and 3 minutes later it was done, a great overall experience. Now just to go looking for some SA
I did mine in store, and just wondered does your sim end in PP4 by any chance, as i didnt get the sim packaging from them so didn't notice if it said R15 SA

I swapped mine online recently and it was a PP4 mozzauk, it said R15 SA on the packaging.

I had no luck finding any SA though.

The novelty has long worn off now, after seeing the few results I'm not bothering hunting for it anymore. 😁

I need to go into the Centre of Sheffield, as nothing on the outskirts apart from near Meadowhell...

Good hunting! I saw on cellmapper that you'd found an SA cell at the Southern Cross but I can't seem to find a sniff of it, interested if you can find it again.

I believe it was from the Orion on stainton way. It may be wrong though, I was at Dixon's bank Tesco and the signal strength was very strong so couldn't think of anywhere else it could be from.

Oh wow haven't heard the LG Cookie mentioned in a while, that was the phone I really wanted growing up, think I had the Orange Vegas around that time and didn't get a 3G phone until I could buy one myself
Still got to this day! Orignally was locked to O2... the good old days!
