Not used to making two threads on a forum in a day!

O2 has followed other providers (like I think AT&T or T-Mobile US, not sure) by moving their RCS services to use Jibe by Google instead. During the process, RCS will be unavailable for up to 5 days.

One thing off their heads, but cutting off customers from service for up to 5 days doesn't sounds to me like a well planned migration. Either they don't care or it is Google.

I'm already actually having issues, was able to receive an RCS yesterday but RCS chats are already unavailable.

Just saw this.

The fact O2 is giving such a long period to migrate sucks. I'm probably going to get my RCS disabled for now tbh, since I don't want to be unreachable just because I've enabled it and it's not activated.

This is part of the migration from Mavenir to Google RCS. Migration started yesterday (Tuesday 10th Oct)

I think my post explains that quite clearly lol

Anyways I'm due to update this. I reactivated RCS yesterday, and I'm still on O2's system and it's decided to work again.

Not sure when I'll be moved over to Jibe.

Just had my RCS moved from O2 to Jibe, noticed that RCS was gone last night but it's back on Jibe now

Unlike what O2's communications said, I didn't have to agree to the terms, but I assume that was due to me accepting it in the past since Virgin used Jibe.

(apologies for Pleasant Green in PiP)

Another service outsourced to Google.. Just great.

Just wanted to provide an update. I've been without RCS now for roughly 16 days.

It was working initially, but I get the setting up message every single time now. I don't see any outbound texts to Google on my latest bill either so I have no clue what's going on.

Since I don't pay the bills, I really need to see whether I can get the billpayer to go into an O2 shop and replace my SIM. Hopefully then I won't have as many issues with this awful company 😭

Seen that before on other networks and with RCS and has been going on for years... Have a look at his on the Pixel Community,

Yeah I don't think that did anything. I'm going to try and uninstall the beta version of Messages I'm currently using but doubt that'll make any difference.

I've had numerous problems since being on O2, such as getting texts from Floodline when I never did before (and then not being able to cancel it via text due to spend cap, tried cancelling via email but I never had anything to verify that my number had been removed), visual voicemail never worked, VoLTE/VoWiFi randomly stopped working (provisioned but IMS isn't registered).

I used to get this on Google.

Sure I had to switch it off. Remove the app completely. Then download it again, make sure number was updated correctly in the messages app before switching it on.

I don't remember having any issues from Virgin, everything with O2 has been interesting, that's for sure.
