Hi,
I have a community fibre application with openreach. 12 properties in all.
But Openreach's inital estimate £41k, did not include my property or my immediate neighbour.
Eventually after several wrong estimates, we received a final offer last december of £91k. Obviously indicating to my neighbours that to connect the extra 1/2 mile to the last 2 properties would cost £51k extra. They now want to go ahead, understandably, without us, as we can't finance the extra £51k.
Our broadband speed is 4.5mbps and 4,500 metres from our local exchange on a copper ADLS2 line with Intermitent signals and breakdowns. I have asked Openreach to include us with a port to connect from the FFTP box, enabling us Fast fibre connection, but I have been told this isnt possible, and am not sure why. Although this wouldn't be covered by gigabit vouchers, I am told , although this is also unclear.
Are there any suggestions or information that could help me fight this injustice, before we are completely cut off from any minimum 10mbps, as Government suggets we should be on.
thanks
