Outdoor CPEs

Finally web access is not disappearing :). Now chrome script working properly, and i'm able to switch band like b3+n40 and b1+n40. Today i noticed max of ever DL speed on weak signal ~200mb/s. Thanks again, stich86.
I’m happy that you have solved the problem ;)

Just for other one that wants to use N41: all current builds that are not from Polish/UEA state doesn’t support this band

if there are someone with STC/Orange PL/Emirates EL/Bahrain let me know if we can make a dump :)

send me a private message, i'll share you the procedure to do on windows

This is very customized firmware, curious to know when it was released :)

Hello everyone, it is possible to use the MC7010CA router with the N78 band in 5G, it is the one used where I live.

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me, I'm from Chile and the following bands deal here:
4G: B2-B4-B7-B28-B66
5G NSA:N78
I have a Huawei CPE Pro2 router in the window but the 5G signal is very bad, I was looking at making a mod to install an external antenna or buy another router in this case it would be the ZTE MC7010CA which is at a very low price on Amazon but I don't know If it will work in Chile and if I will get better results with it compared to Huawei.

Hi, can somebody please help me!
I bought a ZTE mc7010 off ebay, three UK device but using three in ireland SIM.
Connects from 4G+ and speeds are about 80mb down, 15 up but my sim card on my mobile and family receives 5G with full bars so I know the modem should get 5g.I have tried changing to 5G SA only setting on the ZTE device and no signal is found, have tried searching for new firmware via the device itself, says no new software. Current software is showing H3G_GB_MC7010DV1.0.0B09, have tried that java script thingy but honestly I have no idea! Also got a replacement sim card encase the SIM was too old.

Three UK uses NSA (non-standalone 5G). NR bands were used as supplementary.

I bought the MC7010 Three version a few months ago now. Apart from a weird DNS issue I was having, it’s been running great. I’m about 1.2 miles away from the mast as the crow flies, and twice the height of the mast. I’m on top of a hill, mast in the valley. Still getting great speeds.

George, what firmware version are you running? From reading several other forums the firmware I have currently is the issue and I need to update it but not sure where to start. What DNS issue were you having, mine randomly just hangs and I cant access the IP http://192.168.254.1/ , device itself shows all green lights can only get internet access again by rebooting the ZTE manually by unplugging.

Software Version: H3G_GB_MC7010DV1.0.1B01
Hardware Version: MC7010-1

The DNS issue, randomly the internet would completely stop working, errors loading web pages nothing loads. If I changed the DNS server from Threes to a 3rd party like cloudflare, the internet comes back stright away, change it back to threes DNS then the internet drops out again. The issue would fix it self within 30 mins normally. Restarting most of the time did not fix the issue.

All the lights would stay green as normal and the admin page would work fine. The first device I got had this issue bad, would happen everyday, the eBay seller had their tech team take a look, they replaced the device after checking all the settings. The new device I have only had the issue twice, and I’ve had it 2 months now. Since Threes network went down for a day a little while back I’ve not had the issue since.

thanks that’s interesting your on a newer version than me. Did you update manually or did one automatically happen?

The update automatically happened a few weeks ago. I have auto update and auto restart enabled. (The SIM card is direct from Three) I havnt had the issue since the update.

At around the same time I made a complaint to three about the issue, the complaints team did a reset on the SIM card (they called it something else), not sure if this helped the issue.

@stich86

Do you have any recommendation between Huawei CPE Win vs ZTE MC7010 for urban UK areas?
I have both routers, the Huawei I've had for a few years now and it has been absolutely rock solid. Bought the "stock" Huawei version, not some telco version fyi. This is the version information:
Hardware version
WL1H312M
Software version
11.0.2.1(H329SP17C233)
Web UI version
WEBUI 11.0.2.1(W2SP11C233)
Configuration file version
H312-371-CUST 10.0.2.3(C233)

It does not support as many bands as the ZTE, but it does cover N78 which is what you want in an urban area.

The ZTE (Three UK version) has been solid as well, albeit for a much shorter period of time as I had just bought it in December or so. It supports more bands than the Huawei and generally a little bit more flexible.

Personally I'd recommend the ZTE as it's newer technology and it's much more available on ebay. I think I paid around £160 for it.
