Outlook Folder deleting?!

Hello boys and girls. :)

For all my lookin i surely cannot figure out how to get shot an unwanted folder on my Outlook Express. :hrmph:

I added a new folder (easy peasy) but in my haste i miss clicked and had it comin as a sub folder to 'drafts' (not where i wanted it at all). I then put a duplicate in the place i wanted it but cannot figure how to get shot of the evil doppleganger original.

Any ideas or just live with it?

(it does appear that anything i put in the 'sub folder' goes into both..if you see what i mean?)

'elp. :)

:smilet: I had Incredi for ages..but it kept bein a swine....freezing all the time etc. Thats why i went OE (via Thunderbird)... i have only my own idiocy to blame for my dilema..lol

If you open OE's folders pane and right-click on the folder you want gone, there should be a delete option - with the default settings it gets put in the "deleted" folder so you have to delete it from there too (you should also be able to move folders by dragging and dropping them).

If the folders have got cross linked somehow, try moving their contents into a new folder with a different name, then deleting both old ones, then completely close down OE before renaming the new folder.

I installed Incrudimail once, was pleased to get rid of the thing.

:crap: Thanks but not working...i think i'll just put up with it.

How it is..when you click to 'move email to folder' i have all the folders but 'drafts' has the '+' sign and a sub folder. I did the right click to romove folder..but it only removes it from the side shortcut pane (pain?!!) it dunt delete it altogether. Maybe if i have a look around hard drive somewhere its in the program.....here goes.

Hi ho hi ho...deleting files i go da dee da

Kits, i dint find Thunderbird much different from OE..cept it took longer to load.

Hmm, did you try to delete it from the folders pane rather than the outlook bar.

Select View -> Layout from OE's main menu and and tick "Folder List" to display this pane.

Also any sub folders in it have to be deleted first.

Already got one side of the family completed going back to the 1800s so working on hubbys family tree now. Its interesting what you find out when you do the family tree. :D it will be online when its complete but under a different domain name linked from my present site.

I normally have OE's folders pane closed, as it can be opened quickly by clicking on the current mailbox title in the "Folder Bar" if you have this displayed (View -> Layout and tick folder bar)
