Hi.

My three 5g Broadband contract comes to an end on 21st November.
Can I port the sim number to a standard phone sim as the router sim has a very good number linked to it?

Thanks

You can, but for some people doing so doesn't initiate the returns process properly. It will cancel your account but may not result in a prepaid returns bag being sent out. If it doesn't come you'll have to call customer service and ask them to post you one to avoid a non-return penalty being charged to you for the router.

I've already spoken to three and they have initiated the cancellation as from contract end date.
It's just that I would like to PAC the number too.
Can I transfer before contract end date?

They’ve probably put through a 30-day cancellation.

You’re probably best off calling to see what they have done. I would cancel the 30-day notice and request a PAC which needs to be used within 30 days (IIRC).

If you request a PAC it will automatically cancel the account on the day your number ports away to the new provider. If you just cancel you’ll lose the number of the end date of the contract.

I requested a pac via text which worked but a text came back stating £9:89 cancellation fee to be added.....cheek

I suppose I will have to live chat India again then

That’s the pro rata cost of the remaining contract.

You said that your minimum term is up on the 21st? That charge is the remaining line rental up to that date.

Well the text actually said.....

That looks right tbh, cancellation fee is the ‘ETF’ (early termination fee).

Your out of bundle charges are really high though!
It is odd as I have not used the router for about a year

on the subj of pac dance, which SIM provider can one use to PAC from Voxi and then eventually back to Voxi without needing to first topup the SIM card in the middle of the PAC dance?

Three

I did this a couple of months ago. When I texted for a PAC it asked for DoB for security then so I did that and it sent me the PAC. No credit needed.

Spoke to three regarding cancellation charges and pac etc.
They told me to wait until contract ends then pac the number.
The charge was,if I port the number pre end of contract.
Surely once the contract ends the number will cease too ?
That doesn't sound right to me.
The reply i received after asking this was nonsense too.

thanks for that (y)

the Three form to fill in for just a free SIM was sooo long-winded you will think I was applying for a mortgage , after all that I just hope it works okay for the PAC dance and I dont have to topup etc :)

A quick update.

PAC dance over & completed successfully.

Ported number from VOXI to Three (and decide to stayed with Three for 1 day so everything bed-in properly) and then next day moved same number back to VOXI, so 3 days in all.

Also this PAC dance cost me nothing ie no top up etc.
