Packet loss in counterstrike

Right im using the Asuscom P-IN100-ST-D internal card to connect to the internet using a 64k ISDN connection via BT anytime.

The problem im having is that since using this card, although my ping times to gaming servers are much quicker, i have these random spells of huge packet loss which cause the ping to spkie up to 3000 for a couple of seconds.

Does anybody know how to get rid of packet loss as i find it damn annoying? :)

Feel for me im on Fast24 and my Choke is on 17 or above all the time

If you have used any connection 'optimisation' tools, reset everything back to defaults.
You didn't mention your pc spec or current isp but try disabling ipx/netbeui in the properties -> server types of the dialup. Make sure you are as close the the HH box as possible and change the cat5 cable to see if it helps.
