Now for a dial-up 56k, that pretty damn good! :) all down to meh supra express  on freeserve anytime though but changing to clara.net soon, so wif their software compression the connection should be a little better

56k dialup AOL anytime

Exactly!
You never get the pings that DOS reports in the real world. :)

Did this on a G4 Mac. running OS X. 512k NTL Cable connection..

Tat is true! dos may not be 'real world' but its just as good as any other ping tool right???

If u want real world, then play a game on-line and get a ping as you are playing lol! :D

Strange thing is the all seeing eye give pings of even lower! 95ms!!! heheheh, gmaespy is weird, it gives pings between 15ms-2000ms!!! which is obviously bo**cks!!

My 'Real world' connection to a Q3 server at Jolt is 120ms to 180ms average :D

Hows tat???

Yea thats pretty good what ISP are you with?
I used to get a rock solid ping of 150ms with my supra express and Libertysurf but I have never been able to find an ISP that gives me the same solid ping. :(
I eventually gave up the chase and got ISDN installed now I'm happy :)

heheh, well i'm on a few!!! That was freeserve on the 16164 number! however that is soon to be changed to Clara Net, as i'm gettting a bit pissed off with a 2 hour cut off!

I was considering ISDN as I cant get ADSL, whats it REALLY like??? I hear bad and good things about it. The cost is putting me off, but if it is better then I will happily hand over the dosh! specially as Vispa now offer 128k anytime access :D

I've only had it for a few weeks but the difference has been amazing.
Multiplayer gaming has never been better neither have my scores. :)
Everything is quicker downloads at 7.5Kb and browsing is also quicker.
My sticking point as with most is the price compared to adsl but when you actually work it out per month for what you pay now it's not that much, just the extra on the line rental.
Well worth it for the online gaming alone. :) :)
