Pipex - I'm finally free

Sue

0
After having intermittent problems with my Broadband from July of last year until February of this year it went off altogether. I was ringing constantly and getting nowhere. Eventually (after getting Otelo involved) they decided to let me out of my contract (there was only 1 month left by this time) with no penalty and to refund 3 months charges plus £10 for the cost of calls (should have been more but I just wanted shut of them!) I'm now with another provider for phone and broadband but they are still billing me and say I owe them!!!! Don't know what to do next.

Do you have the agreement to cancel the contract in writing?

and do Otelo know that Pipex are trying to charge you, against an agreement that they were in some way involved in?

I too cancelled Pipex early-much earlier than Sue though and have had one heck of a fight with them.

Through their rubbish account section I ended up stopping ALL dd's to them-they didn't like that. I'd told them about their bad billing which was my problem and complained many times by email but got no replies. I've been told by pipex that I'll continue to get automated calls asking me for the cancellation fee-which I was told would be sorted via communication from the boss at the time, but never happened, instead took-or tried to take the money anyway.

I've been advised to write to their customer services informing them of whats happened and the banks told me to keep an eye on my account-any trouble and my banks going to sort it out. Apparently, ISP's are the worst offenders via banks-Pipex being one of the worst. But having said that Sue, please don't be disheartened, write to them explaining and send it recorded delivery for proof, stop any dd's(check your banking as Pipex may have more than one dd step up unbeknowing to yourself (experience!) and ask your bank to help, plus Otelo too.

Akbray has come up with good advice there. I think in writing is the best way forward-you keep a copy too.

good luck Sue ;)
