PLC is subjected to the same approvals as ADSL, namely BS EN-60950 & BS EN-55022. Neither ADSL or PLC are required to carry out any other testing for Compliance.

It can also be clearly shown that ADSL acts as an unintentional radiator. Tests results showing that ADSL can produce worse EMC test results then PLC.

The therory is one thing but practise is another & to date both PLC & ADSL have caused minimal interference issues both well within the level that would be acceptable.

If anyone wants an in depth report one written by York EMC Services could give you a bit of light reading. Hint brush up on your maths before your start.

Statutory Instrument 1992 No. 2372, which is a legal requirement, states with respect to CE marked equipment;

1) Electromagnetic disturbance it generates does not exceed a level allowing other relevant apparatus to operate as intended.

As an interference complaint has been documented for the Crieff system, PLC is in contravention of item 1.

Idiot ...did you make the complaint?

And one complaint does not make a dispersement...is this your only voice in life, a 'forum' you sound a sad person.

Web Buddy, please stop manipulating the facts to suit your argument. Sure, ADSL radiates - that's because it uses radio frequencies, but you conveniently choose to overlook the fact that 99% of all telephone cables are underground in twisted pairs, so they won't radiate a thing. The same is not true with power cables, where over 90% of all UK power is distributed over ground, strung on single conductors on nice high pylons which make very efficient antennas.

We all want broadband for rural areas, but only if it doesn't jeopardise the safety of other radio users, like long-haul aircraft.
