Please read this regarding disabled benefits.

I hope nobody objects to me posting this here, but it is very important.

A green paper is going through the government at the moment, concerning stopping the payment of Attendance Allowance (and DLA is also on the list) for disabled people. As usual, the government is picking on some of the worse off amongst us to try to save money.

They tried to sneak this through with as little publicity as possible to stop people objecting, but fortunately word got out, and we need to take action now to stop it happening. Up to 2 million disabled people would be affected by this, and many could lose more than £100 a week!

Please, please, please, sign the petition at http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/AttendanceA/
You only have until 7th December to sign.

You can also send a response to the idea at http://careandsupport.direct.gov.uk/greenpaper/execsum/
or by email at careandsupport (@) dh.gsi.gov.uk
More information can be found at www.benefitsandwork.co.uk

This is a very serious matter which needs to have something done to stop it. Please sign the petition at the very least, and forward this to as many people as possible.

Signed.

I read that Mr Brown is having proplems with his eyes at the moment. It would be quite unfortunate if he lost his sight completely and had to rely on state benefits to help him and his family. :hrmph:

signed yesterday, also wonder if peeps heard his newest stupid idea? they are halting training of the TA to save money.. so much for the war on terrorism.

What's new about that??

The Navy stays tied up at port for much of the year because they cannot afford the fuel to take the ships out!!!

I don't think any of Brown's cronies are members of this forum, so you're unlikely to get any one moaning.
Thank you for bringing it to our attention. I'm surprised that I hadn't already been made aware of it, but perhaps a good friend of mine who usually keeps me up to date on anything like this is on holiday. Whatever, the fact is that I did not know, so had you not posted here, that would have been at least one less signature!

I've posted this in five forums so far, and on two of them I've had "stop spamming the forums, otherwise you'll be banned!" type messages from the admins  I don't know why they've taken that attitude, but I've banned myself now to save them the trouble

Anyway. thanks to everyone who has signed so far. The more the better

They still sneaked through larger benefits for them when they leave office at the expense of the rest of us having to cut back. Perhaps larger payouts, perks and golden handshakes for government and councilors is required to get them back on focus instead of studying how to milk the system.

indeed, while the rest of us suffer politicians get to sun it down in the Bahamas while we go without.

I'd rather they were in the Bahamas than f***ing up the country in parliament!

One problem about that is they are still doing that to the country and residents by milking the system to pay for the Bahamas first class holiday for all their family.

I could live with that if they only bought one-way tickets.

That said, discovering that Jacqui Smith's husband had watched blue movies which she then claimed for was absolutely hysterical - I would have loved to have seen their conversations whet that came to light!
