HI there,
This is correct. The FUP is no more!! Instead we will be managing the network and contacting only those who's usage is deemed to be having a significant effect on the remainder of the network.
This is still good (if not better), because you can still take advantage of the network during quieter times. We would only make an attempt to contact you regarding your usage if it was having a noticable impact on others.
It is only during peak times that we will manage things. Really this is to ensure that one person isn't maxing their connection whilst another has difficulty viewing webpages (to use an extreme example). Instead the imbalance would be addressed so both users can continue what they are doing with minimum impact to their overall performance.
Unfortunately, it is a little hard to put a figure on things.
This is because there may be two customers both using 150GB/mnth. One of these customers may be doing so when the network is at peak utilisation. The other may have spread their usage across quieter periods. There is a possibility that only one of these customers would need to be contacted regarding their usage (if at all), therefore it would be unfair to say that 150GB was the limit. I am using these figures as an example by the way, they are not an indication of the amount of data we would or wouldn't allow.
One of the benefits of the recent announcement is that you no longer have to 'clock-watch' so to speak. Neither are we applying a blanket rule to the entire userbase to address issues caused by a tiny portion of them.
If anyone has any questions then I will try my best to answer them.
Kind Regards,
