Porn ads on ISPreview

Hi all,

Maybe it's just my rotten algorithm, but I'm getting sex/porn ads in ISPreview for the last two days. Anyone else noticed this? 😂

Cheers
I've got an ad blocker on (sorry mark, my OCD can't handle it!)

However i have noticed a rise in these on other platforms I use where the ad block doesn't come into play, like on the speedtest app.

Think its a wider google issue.

Makes sense. Don't have an ad Blocker on my phone - so only noticed it on here

Adult ad content isn't allowed on this site, but what happens is that such ads may sneak in the backdoor (no pun intended) via various methods, which means the ad network's filters don't always catch them. This is a constant problem for the industry, and it's a game of whack-a-mole.

If you spot one, then take a screenshot and make a note of the URL, so I can report it back. Even better, make a HAR file while it's showing as well, since that allows the ad network to see exactly what was being called at the time.

Thanks for the insights. Will try to do that next time.

Yes, I've reported it multiple times, and have given up now. No other site I use has this problem; the advertising network ISPreview choses to use is, erm, pants.

It's not my job to act as moderator for this advertising network, and I'm not going to waste my time helping them in this way any more.

You can mostly defang the adverts by putting this in your /etc/hosts or equivalent:

Code:
10.255.255.254 content1.avplayer.com gcdn.2mdn.net pixel.adsafeprotected.com static.adsafeprotected.com cdn1.vntsm.com s-static.innovid.com cdn.flashtalking.com images.mediago.io cdn.mediago.io trace-eu.mediago.io fra1-ib.adnxs-simple.com

This avoids me installing a general ad-blocker, which I don't want to do just because of this one site.
