Port Forwarding to 4g/5g Router

Hi guys, ask what has already been asked but I have an issue as followed. I want to remote play my PS5 on my lunch breaks at work externally from my home. I get an error which I believe is because the ports need opening on my router which is the NR5103E (5GEE on EE). I have used the port forwarding settings on the router itself with what appear to be the correct ports. However, I am still unable to access my PS5 from the office.

The nat is set to nat3 which I also would like to change to nat2 however I have read this may not be possible?

I have even put my PS5 IP on the DMZ of the router and it still wont let me access it from the office.

Am I banging my head against a brick wall or is there a workaround?

Thanks for any help in advance and again apologies if this causes frustration as its been asked before, I did do a quick search and nothing appeared to be relevant to my issues.

If you check the IP address assigned to the NR5103E WAN, it's quite likely to have either a CGNAT IP address or a private 10.0.0.0/8 IP address and wouldn't be publicly routable on the internet and therefore could not directly accept unsolicited incoming connections.

Ah thank you for the response, so can I assume that if this is the case then I will not be able to play remotely? I always have a Huawei B818 but I am assuming this will have the same issue as we only get 4G so most routers that are compatible will have a CGNAT IP?

It means there's some hoop-jumping if you want to be able to initiate unsolicited connections into your network. It's the internet service provider which determines whether you receive a publicly routable IP address (changing router should have no impact). I believe it's still only Three UK of the UK mobile providers which has an APN which provides a publicly routable IPv4 address.

So I am probably better off staying on my 3 sim card with my old router than switching to EE. Can you or do you know where I could find an in depth guide on the loop jumping that I would need to do?

Thanks,

With a 3/Three UK SIM card, I think trying the 3internet APN might get you a publicly routable IPv4 address (unless I'm mistaken). Searches on this forum and online should give further context.

For other service providers behind CGNAT, Cloudflare Tunnel and similar technologies to allow web and other servers to be run in the home are things to look into.
