Port forwarding wiith a Data Sim

All,
Need your sagely advice here.
Set up working beautifully, Huawei B315 router and EE data SIM (2x25Gb for £25 per month).

I would like to open the ports so that I can view my CCTV cameras remotely but having done all the work on the router, we have zero success. The ports show as closed when access externally. It seems that the ports won't open.
I am wondering whether this is an isssue at the EE end of things.

Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, what have they done?

This is probably because of CGNAT and / or the limits placed on such networks by residential mobile providers (e.g. firewalls). Usually if you want more complicated network management from a mobile operator then you may need a business SIM from an ISP that knows how to do the setup properly, but that's going to be far too expensive for your needs and the data allowances may not be as flexible.

Essentially CGNAT means your IP address is shared between many users and in EE's setup conventional port forwarding won't work because the original device is hidden behind the NAT. In theory IPv6 should solve this but that’s no help for you today.

I did however read somewhere that somebody had got around this by using two EE connections. I think they setup port forwarding using the original address the router defines, not what the internet thinks, but you may need to do some Googling.

As said above, EE use CGNAT so port forwarding will not work.

I have now moved to Three HomeFi and they don't use CGNAT so port forwarding now working fine for my CCTV cameras.
