Positive Virgin user

A post for no reason other than to add some good to the threads.

I have been on Virgin.Net for 4 years and in all that time I had not one reason to moan or complain :) I am not a heavy internet user as I work with PCs and have full access to a very fast broadband service at work so my home use is very little due to the fact by the time I go home I am sick of the site of the damn things.

I usualy go on 24/7 in the winter months and use PAYG in the summer due to being out more in the summer etc.

I have only ever had one connection problem in all that time and that was due to engineering work their end which was fine by the morning.

I always call customer services or the support line between 9am and 11.30am and I get straight through or I call as soon as the support centre opens and I get straight through.

It is true never call at night it's always very busy.

No real reason to ever call CS anyway.

My only little gripe with them was about 3 years ago they ran a survay asking if customers would like an off peak service at a lower rate than 24/7 this sadly never materialised.

I was worried when NTL bought them out but this has had no effect on my service.

Connections speeds are from 52kbs to 56kbs at all times, this may be helped that I had brand new phone line put in from the main road by BT due to problems caused bt Telewest smashing BT calbles up.

It would be nice to hear other positive user news.
Ah and on another note I have even had them call me back and offer me an 0845 support number when I first joined to get the pre-dial number issue sorted as I was ex-directory, then they called me back.

My time with them would have been similar to your own and I would write a similar report to your's. I am an EX Virgin member, I left because of broadband.
They done me a bad turn when I left. They took a months premium that I didn't use. I wrote several emails requesting return of premium payment.
They repeatedly told me it was in my account. What use is that to me. I can't get it. So after almost 4 years loyal service all I got was a kick in the teeth. :(

I have been with Virgin 24/7 and now broadband for the last four years and must say that I have had one or two problems, but generally on the whole, are very pleased with their service especially now that broadband is 2 Meg.:)

If it's on your account, reactivate your account on pay as you go, and use the month's worth of credit when you're away from your home computer. Failing that, ask for a cheque refund, the billing team are usually pretty good like that. It's all about convincing the call centre agent that it's what's best for them ;)

Hello romerogoon, I emailed them and requested repayment. I have to phone them and get it that way, any idea what their number is?
I am reluctant to phone, some of the calls would soon wipe out any rebate.:(
I did change account to PAYG when leaving.
