Most posting in the foums have always been complaints, so I would like to take the time to praise Vispa.
I joined Vispa last month after being without internet or phone access since a row with BT last Autumn; I did so after many hours of research amongst the various ISP's and packages available.
They are not cheap, nor is the package unlimited, but the download limit is set reasonably high, even on the cheapest package.
Unfortunately I had problems even before my line was connected, a 10 day forecast for phone and internet stretched into 3 weeks, although I believe this was mostly BTW dragging it's feet.
When everything was connected, it only worked for 36 hours before everything went dead again; the telephone took 4 days to restore and the internet has only started functioning properly today, although I have had patchy use for two weeks.
None of this was Vispa's fault, the faults were caused by bad workmanship and faulty equipment being installed by BTW.
My praise for Vispa is because through out this time they have helped me at every stage, even to the point of Kevin, (the BOFH), staying late at work to go through various setting on my line and router to pin point the cause of a problem with very strange on-line behavior.
Twice he performed line tests and ping checks while talking to me via the phone, and talked me through pinging a Vispa test server from my end, ( from his end a ping of 40ms, from my end 178ms !!), and made BTW fit two new DSLAM's.
At the same time my connection failed my sister had the same problem, even though she has a totally different PC set-up, ISP (Orange ), and lives 12 miles away in a different area code/exchange; the problem is identical; today my connection has been fixed; my sister is STILL WAITING for Orange to carry out an initial line test.
Thank you Vispa !!
And shame on you Orange, I think you are going to lose another customer who has been with you for many years.
