Primus Saver Download Limit Increase For New Customers Only

About as much use as the Bible in a Glastenbury portable toilet 10gb's a month! I can do that in one afternoon, without trying hard! Primus is obviously an ISP for the retarded. :crap:

Firstly, nobody has reviewed Primus yet so why not be the first? :)

You might find that the ISP doesn't like bad publicity and becomes more productive.

Secondly, have you tried contacting them and asking to "upgrade" (regrade) onto the new package? This may involve having to accept a new contract but that's common practice. Every ISP tends to have such a facility.

I phoned their Customer Service Dept. (in India!) and spoke to 3 different reps. They all said the same... "You can only upgrade to unlimited download allowance for more money".

On their Facebook page they first stated: "I am sorry you are that disappointed but you can still update your contract and pay less". Then they recanted with this: "Unfortunately the two packages are not identical therefore you are not entitled to benefit from the new 20GB offer"

*cough review* ;)

I guess it depends upon what they mean by "not identical", if the platforms are physically different then that could add some complications but it's hard to tell as we don't know what you're upgrade from or to. Perhaps time to change operator?

Sadly there's no legal onus on an ISP to offer such an upgrade (you pay for the contract you signup with) and you can't expect wonders, such as good customer service, from cheap-o providers like Primus.

primus saver broadband

Primus claim to give you 10GB a month. Unfortunately they are constantly exagerating my usage sometimes to double my actual usage and have charged me an excess. As I have a broadband meter installed which is very accurate I know that the figures they are providing are not correct. This may be because thay are using Talk Talks network and getting figures second hand. They also claim not too be able to provide daily usage figures which I can provide via my meter.Their solution is to suggest I pay extra and have the 20GB package. I wonder if they are not deliberately exagerating my usage to make me pay more. If so that would constitute fraud and would have very serious consequences for them indeed. PROBABLY JUST INCOMPETENT THOUGH.

Accurately calculating usage is always a bit tedious, not least because nobody is ever sure quite how the ISP will handle information that is compressed during a transfer. Anyway if they cannot provide a daily summary of data usage then I don't know how they're able to offer any kind of accurate total.

Sadly none of this will help you as it would be difficult to build a case without more examples of the same problem and a budget provider like Primus probably won't care about the odd individual getting a bad result (though I'd love to be proven wrong). I'd either upgrade to the 20GB package or switch ISP as soon as you are able.
