Private 5G Networks

We’re missing a thread for the most important networks we will never see 😃

Do you have a private 5G network near you? If so post picture and information about them here. I’ll start with a picture of a Huawei 5G only pole using n77.

How do you know it uses n77? How do you find out more info about these networks since you cannot connect to them (I imagine)?

could it be for utilities?

I got it from a mix of licence applications and antenna model on planning portals. never been able to connect to one myself, but does appear in network search on a regular 5G phone since n77 is licensed spectrum. Whilst n78 is sliced up and each slice then licensed to an operator for use countrywide, it’s my understanding that n77 on the other hand is licensed to a different operator in each regions, and each one can use the same block.

I came across this useful PowerPoint some time back which says a bit about the catapult ones

Yeh that sort of stuff. street lamps , bus stop timetables, air quality monitoring stations, etc. fortunately alot of these utilities are high up from the ground compared to a mobile phone, so they can get a good performance on n77 with a 3.8-4.2GHz antenna.

I'm assuming this is a private 4G network so slightly pushing the thread but haven't posted this anywhere. Either that or Vodafone misconfigured something

Random Chinese PLMN using Vodafone's b38, not a clue where it is.

Based on your information, it looks like private LTE/5G network hosted by IPlook's infra.

How come it doesn't show any other networks on that list?
