Problem with Talkmobile blocking websites

Hi,

A few days ago I noticed that Talkmobile had decided to reintroduce there age filter on my account, despite me having it removed ages ago.

I have spent the last four days back and forth being told it will be removed “in the next 20 minutes sir but allow 24 hours” then it started to work.

This morning the bar is back, but now on both sims on this account.

Here is the link I’m trying to access:

And this is what I get:

Although it works fine on Starlink, my girlfriends Vodafone and a 1p mobile sim.

How can I get through to anybody at Talkmobile who understand? Or am I better just getting a PAC or two ?

Thanks.

Probably not helpful but...

I'd get a PAC. If the adult filter is blocking something as harmless as a transcript of a Star Trek episode, and all you're getting is "sir" gibberish and no action from the customer service rep, I'd change networks. Voxi would keep you on Vodafone and allows you to turn on/off the adult filter in their web interface with no CS interaction required, as does (I think) 1p.

Thanks for your reply. Now, this is weird the content filter seems to have been removed (other sites working) but for some reason this specific site is still barred. Can’t face going through it with TM so might take ur advice and port to Voxi (or Voda itself).

I can’t remember ever lifting the content block on my Talkmobile sim but that site opens fine using my Talkmobile sim.

You know after they removed it, it's probably your phone that needs fully restarting so it can get the updated DNS records etc.

Having read up how you remove the adult bar on Talkmobile I am now sure I’ve not requested it’s removal.

Try changing the DNS. That's what works for me on VOXI and TalkHome.

Thanks all. Been doing some testing. Seems the site in question is blocked intermittently even on a direct Vodafone SiM.

Devices we have tried:

iPhone 12 - Vodafone 4G
Nokia Android - Talkmobile 4G
Archer router - Talkmobile 4G

Don’t know how to change DNS on the phone. A weird fault indeed. It’s only that one page on the site that’s blocked so not too bothered just interested to know why.

On Android, check your network settings (or search the settings), something about DNS/Encrypted DNS.

one.one.one.one = 1.1.1.1/Cloudflare
dns.google = 8.8.8.8/Google DNS
dns.quad9.net = 9.9.9.9/Quad9
