WiFi calling also depends on whether the firewall has the correct ports allowed. At work, WiFi calling did not work for any network until ports 500 and 4500 were allowed through the firewall.O2 tends to be good with WiFi calling in my experience, allows calling over quite a few networks
This is the same for me but not at certain chains, e.g McDonalds always asks me to login. But generally it's great, and somehow it doesn't latch on to a weak signal like BT WiFi does. I had to disable BT WiFi because it was causing my calls to drop with EE when it would latch onto a weak BT Hub on every streetTbh O2 wifi is the only thing I can’t fault them on, it always seems to work well and is reliable and fast. WiFi calling always works too. It also always remembers my phone no matter where i am which is nice.
I didn't know this was what it was - my work wi-fi also allows wi-fi calling, but I wasn't clear on what made a network accept it or otherwise. I'm on Vodafone and the wi-fi calling is great in work.WiFi calling also depends on whether the firewall has the correct ports allowed. Never seen EE deny wifi calling on a network in the UK, but O2 is picky with itI didn't know this was what it was - my work wi-fi also allows wi-fi calling, but I wasn't clear on what made a network accept it or otherwise. I'm on Vodafone and the wi-fi calling is great in work.
In our case, I suspect it was demand from staff, the building is steel-framed and very poor for reception, so without wi-fi calling capabilities there'd be problems making phone calls when needed. The landline system and desk phones in the office were deactivated during Covid and never returned, the vast majority of comms between staff go over Teams now.
It was the firewall for that WiFi network blocking the required port numbers for WiFi calling. As soon as UDP 500 and 4500 were unblocked, WiFi calling started working.Never seen EE deny wifi calling on a network in the UK, but O2 is picky with it

Yes the WiFi is free, I think you can charge your devices from them too. But I think they're essentially for advertisments. It would be great if they all had small cells inUnfortunate
What do these BT Street Hubs even do anyways other than show you advertisements and news?
Seems to be an EE micro cell in one near the shopping centres here but I'm not entirely sure, are you able to connect to the WiFi on these for free?
