This looks interesting

A portable WiFi router with 5G and a battery. And very interestingly, 2 SIM slots.
Failover. OpenWRT based so should get updates better than the likes of Huawei/Zyxel/ZTE etc.
4 external antenna ports. (and two for WiFi)
$499 though.. ouch.

:)

nice find. It's very much like the Beryl router but with 5G and a battery. I'm impressed by the dual SIM option i've never seen a 5G router with that when i've looked. It would be neat if it offered a round-robin both together option but it appears from watching the video that it's just one or the other, but since it's OpenWRT based, i'm sure you can hack it/manually configure it.

I recently got the Beryl router and despite the fact it's just another OpenWRT router, I quite like it. It's USB-C powered too which is nice.

I was looking for reviews here about the Spitz AX (looks like a non battery version of this) but couldn't find any
Decided to buy it along with a Scancom EE SIM, waiting for it to be delivered
nice! hope you drop a review in here for us. I'm seriously tempted (do I need a 4th 5G router  ) hah. But external antenna ports is always going to be a plus for me, since I have two externally mounted antennas.

No you don't, no one needs 4 5G routers. Oh Wait!

Welcome along to the forums KidYing, how will you be able to sleep at night waiting for it?

I love getting new toys. 😊

Oh it sure is a lot of pennies dabigm.
probably has import tax too... they seem to be based in Hong Kong. Unless it happens to sneak by the customs people (actually haven't been charged import tax for quite a while, but would be just my luck it would be on something expensive like this)

I NEED TO KNOW.

haha honestly, i'm contemplating whacking my Huawei and my Zyxel up on ebay and getting one of these. A burning question I have is can you make both SIMs work at the same time? They only mention failover. I'm assuming therefore it only has one radio and can swap between them but not use both in round-robin.

just found this topic and i am tempted to buy this router. Still have 5 days left to return my MC801A which im not super happy due to fact i cant connect external antennas. I'm wondering if it's worth to pay an extra £240 hmm

I've got it all set up, it's replaced a Huawei CPE Pro H112-372
Got dual SIMs in it Vodafone contract and EE Scancom SIM. So far the download speeds are the same as the Huawei around 80-100 Mb on Vodafone 5G signal, upload has improved, getting around 20-25Mb when I used to get between 5-10Mb, guessing this is due to external antennas. Not sure if the Huawei does 4x4MIMO. Changing SIMs to the EE takes about 30-40 seconds. Speeds are a bit erratic with the EE SIM, I think due to positioning, My phone gets over 200Mb in the room i'm in on EE.

The UI is much better than the Huawei, gives a lot more info on the signal. Can also do band locking which I'll have to play around with

Device does have a fan, I haven't heard it spin up yet as it only triggers at a certain temperature which you can adjust

Still need to have a play around with it, if you want to know any other details let me know
