Quik y no offers like other isps?

quik

Hi guys just to start off and say im back and quik is a good isp but does good mean paying for to much?

No offence, dont burn me etc for my post im not here to cause troble just to ask a few quaestions.

Firsly

Y does quik not offer a really off peak service say from 12 till 6 or 7 am? many isps are doing this and i dont want to move quite yet from you guys, but it would be nice if you actually offer something like this as i bet there aint many people using the service at that time and you guys can make a few extra bucks? maybe limiting the people allowed? first come first serv?

Secondly

I am a off peak 4 hour cutt off user.i believe i only allwed 150hours a month online but its not 150 is it? its half if you connect at 128k...funny i asked this question when i signed up and you guys didnbt say nothing......and also dont say i havnt been with you guys for long im prolly one of the longest users ?

so really im paying 30 quid for 70 hours online a month.now that is quite hefty dont you think?

i would love to hear from you guys as you are all a great team

cheers

Some confusion I think. It is a contention ratio of 10:1 but the maximum hours is 150 hours per channel. So if you have a 128k package you can use a maximum of 150 hours at dual channel, not 70.

Hope this helps.

With regards to a midnight to 7 am slot, we were one of the first to try this, last year, but didn't get much interest.

But, now you've asked, I will revisit and if it is viable we will try and promote again.

Regards

Many thanks David for you response

Once again you showed that quik is above the rest when it comes to customer support!!!!

let me just clarify...........i checked my usage for November at quiks site and it said it was 149 hours.

does that mena i have used 149 hours at 128k?

cheers again

only thing i think would be nice for Quick to offer is mabe the hrs between 1am and 5am not 2 be deducted from allouance as it would deture the likes of me from downloading any time of the day, i would rather do it at night when its not deducted from my usage allouance :) .

a few isp's are taking up this offer at the moment .

only a constructive sugestion :) .

Not an unreasonable thing Vaun as between these hours, their ports will have cobwebs blowing through them...

yes very good for people who dont work and sit at home etc but what about the people that have to be up at 6 to get on the road for work?

12 is more reasonable not cause i want it because many people will ber able to join the service and not just the house husbands wifes etc...

dont get me wrong i own my own business and do sit at homealot working on graphics but i do go out to meeting etc most days of the week aswell and all early starts so i can actually see birmigham b4 12 pm :p

err i work 2 as well and i get up at 5 am but i would set my dialup and downloads for 1am till 5am so i would not be watching it download so it would be a good idea for me.

Kitty and FiftySixKer

I have emailed to ispreview to advise that I am a rep. I always sign as quikinternet, so I trust that I have not misled anyone, but I should have cleared this up ages ago. Apologies.

The 149 hours refers to 149 hours at single channel, or 74.5 hours at dual, or somewhere in between. So, if you have a dual package you have not exceeded AUP.

There are a couple of reasons why it would be tricky for us to not count the hours after midnight, but perhaps not impossible. We are reviewing all of our packages, and hope to have new services available by the end of the month,or perhaps 1st week in January.

I will provide info ASAP.

Besides me being a sad git and only having 1 hobbie the net (dont drink, smoke, socialise and i seem to do nothing but surf the web download and do my exercise) its verry important 2 me and i am just so happy to have found a isp that will help me when it is busted as i would be verry verry lost without it... :) ....
