R100 progress

Well all wired up and CBT is lit, Morrisons came on Friday because OR had turned on the PON on Thursday for a test and it returned a fault, which then needed finding so every CBT needed revisiting. That fault must have been found as OR came today for their audit which it passed. They will now inform the commissioning team in India who should take 7 to 10 days before its then marked live by OR. Then it will cascade out through the ISP databases for orders to be placed with a further 4 week wait for installation. My self install ducting is done and buried so its just a waiting game. So mid to late Dec for an FTTP connection, fingers crossed.

Live, they even recognise the ducting and not the planned telegraph pole.

Our records show the following FTTP network service information for these premises:-Single Dwelling Unit Residential UG premises served by 2.5 Inch plastic duct 56.

What has been an issue is the Openreach Fibre checker, for the first year of R100 it stated for my postcode that Fibre was on its way. Then about 18 to 24 months ago it went to unplanned and stayed that way. So yesterday it reported 'unplanned' for my address and today its 'Live', as the R100 project was won and controlled by BT/OR why remove R100 addresses from the OR fibre checker site.

Connected yesterday afternoon with Giganet on 150mps, all speed tests show consistent 150mps even at peak times so very happy.
Spoke to an engineer outside our house yesterday. He was finishing off the overhead fibre lines and said they are now 'live'. Supposedly its now up to Openreach to do their bit and we should hopefully be good to go too.

Live means its lit, OR need to audit it and OK it for commissioning, commissioning takes 10 or so days. Only then will it go live on the OR checker and then cascade down into the ISP's ordering pages.

Thanks, I’ll keep an eye on the Openreach pages over the next few weeks 👍
