R100 voucher scheme delayed?

I see the Scottish government is now suggesting that the voucher scheme is 'due to launch later in the year' which is a bit different from "set to go live this Summer"

This is confusing, if you are in a lot 2 or 3 area how do you know if you have to apply for the voucher or wait instead for the FTTP, how do you know if and if yes when the FTTP will reach you. Total vacuum of info at a local level. And then this unannounced delay to the Voucher scheme.

Looks like they intend using the platform for the existing UK voucher scheme. Assume it will be postcode-driven
I was hoping we'd get the benefit of two vouchers - the existing rural gigabit scheme and the R100 scheme. Not sure now

"We’ve been in discussions with DCMS re use of the same platform as their RGVS which slowed us a bit, but constructive, & work going well. Obviously, sign up of suppliers is key, but we think offer will be an attractive one."

Well spotted on that update JT.

JT, unfortunately things are still very vague regarding the R100 voucher scheme. We do know that it will be based on the UPRN of your property which can be retrieved at https://osg.scot using your postcode/address but whether we can combine R100 and RGVS in one proposal remains to be seen.

As a wireless ISP, we have an industry web meeting next Thursday (20th) with Scot.Gov to find out more details about how it's all going to work and hopefully we can then start planning on how we are going to build out to customers in our area.

Do you mind me asking what area you are in (PM if you prefer)? I might be able to point you to any WISPs/AltNets who may be operating near you.

I believe there's a digital connectivity debate that will cover the matter on Wednesday too.

What is the point of a post code checker that can't take valid post codes.

Well the good news for anyone in lot 1 area is that it looks like virtually all <30Mbps properties in the lot will be eligible for the full £5k voucher per property.

Hopefully I'll know more after a WISP industry webinar tomorrow but it potentially could be a good time for AltNets in Scotland to help get people connected.
