Radio 4 - Biscuit

BBC R4 You+Yours Tackles This Takeover!

Oh...here is better then............

16/11 Y+Y show ended with brief report on the Netservice Biscit CSP war and promised to have follow up today 17/11. Show runs 12 - 1300 and is on Listen Again for 7 days.

Incidentally the reporter said they had received 3 emails. One was from me, one from a named fella and that leaves just one other. The more who paste their previous complaints to Y+Y (and Watchdog) the likelier that this fiasco will get the attention it deserves. Just Search the prog titles and you will find their contact details.

Oh...and the Y+Y reporter tried to contact Biscit for a comment....no one answered the phone nor any other communication mode. Isn't that a shock?

"Until quite recently I was a customer of ISP reseller V21..this company was 'acquired' on 09/10/06 by Biscit Internet Ltd.
I found their business practices not in my best interests and as per my V21 terms and conditions I tendered 28 days notice to leave the service.
I have as of 13/11/06 been 'free' of V21/Biscit.

Two days afterwards, 9500 V21 customers lost their internet connection due to a monetary dispute between Biscit/V21 and Netservices (the backbone supplier to whom these customers accounts were tied to).

Netservices employed their favourite weapon to ensure these 9500 V21 customers had little choice in moving elsewhere...they employed the 'Walled garden' approach giving just 1 choice of an alternative ISP for V21 customers to use the internet or to wait until 27/11/06 without access until Netservices asked BTW to 'cease' their b/band connection.

Why don't the many regulatory bodies protect the consumer in these instances?...
Everything official seems geared to pandering to Internet providers' whims and profit margins.
Many 'guidelines' or Codes of Practice' are voluntary although moves to make them compulsory is in the 'mixer' their enforcement won't help the many thousands who will find themself in a similar situation before they become active.
Consumers end up losers every time and 'walled garden' practices used to shang-hi customers are nothing short of high pressure sales tactics aimed at limiting the freedom of choice the consumer is entitled to and should in my view be outlawed."

I have tried my best to cancel the useless and nonextient service from v21/Biscit. Phone Calls at 50p/Min to hear you have choosen to leave a msg. All i did is to follow the instructions of the recorded service and to speak to the accounts dep, Then by magic it went to voice mail. So i left my details. Biscit never got back to me. So I called again and tried all deps, Tech, Sales Accounts Left so many msg Nothing. So i Called again and this time left a msg saying i want o upgrade and want some stupid deal they were doing(A LITTLE FIB). Well guess what i got a phone call. Then I explained to the Biscit Customer service. That Excess Payments Have been taken ou and Twice and , I want to leave their company. She told me to put all my grivence in writing and send to Biscit Accounts dep. So I sent them a letter Recorded Saying i want to leave & i am moving out of my current residents, the amount of money they owe me, etc, have been trying since september. Well no action has been taken so far. Oh but the excess payments continue to come out for a service i no longer use. I have paid £200.00 for broad band for one month. But my account is still active. I have called consumer direct on 08454040506. They adviced me to write another letter asking for my money and to cancel my account and to take no payments. They said if they dont reply to me within 10 days. Under the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. Trading Standards officers will investigate. I have tried everything. So PEOPLE who are affected by this poor service call consumer direct get a ref no and build your case.

Edited please Will you only need to post the same info once this thread is about the Radio 4 broadcast on V21/Biscit Try to keep to the topic please we know you are all under a lot of stress but everyone is in the position.
