I have a unlimited data SIM in my phone from smarty,and I hotpot on to my TV for nefflix etc but it keeps buffeting and loosing connection, my hotspot can only go at 2.4 mghz, will a mobile router that excepts my smarty unlimited data SIM, fix this problem, does it make the speeds quicker from router than from my phone,. please help, "raggydog

Its probably just smarty being heavily contended on your mast, so more than likely it won't make any difference buying a router.

Thank you, but won't the router option help if faster and 5mghz band , using router antenna.🤔
@Raggydog

No, as its the mobile network infrastructure that is the problem, too many people using mobile data on 3 in your area

Thanks for that, what does a router actually do I had hoped it would help with speed, any other suggestions, please help, I'm not tech, savvy,🙏

A router won't boost your speed unless you have an old phone. Sometimes, especially I've seen if you use iPhone (🤮 if you do) they quite often come out with faster speeds. You could try a router if you really wanted to but I don't think it won't boost your speed. Like others are saying, it's the 3 network it's self that is you speed bottleneck.

I guess I will have to change my provider will that work? Is there any ideas for a portable router alongside a good provider data SIM only, that work good together..ps thanks for all your input.👍😃
Yes, depends how much data you burn through tho. I recommend getting one of these Huawei Mobile WiFi boxes. If you are only using it at home tho you might as well get a 4G router. Just ask if you want a link to a good 4G router :)

As for SIM only I will have to have a look around. Usually using sites such as topcashback gives you the best deal. Vodafone or EE are probably your best option, vodafone if you burn through a hell of a lot of data.
