Rapidshare being blocked by RapidShare [Solution]

I use RapidShare to download files, and to store backup's of my files - Now suddenly i'm having problems as the page doesnt load to download, and programs like RapGet don't work

I found a way around this, on a website i found a list of RapidShare's IP's you can put this in your windows hosts file(google it) and once you reboot your computer you wont get any problems downloading from RapidShare again

l had access via wireless to a BT connection, and l can concur that the host files fix will work as lve had to use it myself, however l found a little app called hoster that will allow me to edit the hosts file without going through the agro of loading system32 > drivers > etc, it maybe lazy but it saves time.. and l like innovations that save time lol

Just an FYI - Be careful of those third party rapidshare download managers, one or two of them (Rapget maybe one, I don't recall) are coded by Russians and will pass your Premium accounts login and password details over to them. It's either that or their method of handling the program isn't secure and the data it passes can thus easily be viewed remotely.

Rapidshare have added a new LOCK feature to prevent account details being changed but to be safe I use Rapidshare's own Manager application. Works fine.

I use jdownloader, it also works very well with other services like Megaupload. It automatically extracts archives which is incredibly handy.

l tend to use Internet Download Manager (IDM), flashegt, and on the odd occasion DownloadThemAll (DTA) tho it honestly depends on which is open at the time
