Remote Access Software.

Hi

Looking for remote access software that i can use to log in to my home pc from work.

I need to have full use over software on my pc, starting programs running etc, files and even chat if possible.

I also am not allowed to instal any software on my works pc (unless i really beg) so if i could just have the software running on my home pc.

I use VNC, you will have to install the veiwer on your works PC, but I dont see how you could get around that.

You also have to install VNC server on your home PC.

I have never tried it, though I am assuming that you have to have some sort of program installed on both machines, I cant really see anyway of getting around that on your works machine.

Looks like you may have to beg, unless someone has another idea.

VNC veiwer is a very small program, but its up to your admins I suppose.

a few of them would do it for me but them we get this company every so often that comes to check the pcs and whats installed etc to see if we have licences for all the software.

anyway lets see if anyone has any ideas

If you install the server software on your home PC, then go to your IP address:5800 on your works PC, it uses a Java client so you don't need to install any software :)

a friend of mine uses TightVNC, he swears by it and has used it for a while, even my local program centre uses it.. pretty sure its freeware.. worth looking into tho tbh there is very few ways to do it without installing something..

you could do it via remote assistance technically (usually installed with windows), but personally l find it a security risk because its not as well guarded as programs designed to do it specifically.

Well while we're on the subject :) , I like TeamViewer because you can get it in Portable form from PortableApps. That makes it a lot easier to take with you and put on different PC's without hassle.

lol, actually, l read the last reply before mine =_= as it had been bumped by someone else.. have a habit of only looking at new replies, as it didnt seem spammish :p sorta didnt realise until you mentioned XD
