Anyone know what RI_ONHOLD_EX_INBUILD means in the BIDB data? Doesn't seem to line up with any of the 0-8 codes above.

where you are getting that information in bidb.uk page?

For my reading, it's on hold. Maybe same story as with me, Light Source started, then went in administration, all works was left unfinished... .
They did half Wisbech (PE13) and then, nothing for 2,5 years now.

Open the developer tools (F12 usually) on your browser (desktop, not mobile), then open the BIDB site. When you search 'Netomnia' you will see the data that is retrieved when the site queries Netomnia's API.

Looks like Netomnia is no longer pulled back.

I'm getting results for my location.

D'oh. Correct. This was me being dense, I was searching for Netomnia not Youfibre.

Address 1:
"BuildStatus": "4-Plan Done",
"NetomniaSalesStatus": "RI_INPLANNING_EX_INBUILD",
Address 2:
"BuildStatus": null,
"NetomniaSalesStatus": "RI_ONHOLD_EX_INBUILD",

I'm assuming they don't want to overlap another provider (I'd assumed FullFibre Ltd), but they're now in plan for both premises. Virgin is available at both. (PIA for 1, RFoG for 2). BT is available at both...

Doesn't make sense to me, I wish there was some more transparency around announced areas as to what is in/out. Headline numbers are great but Address 2 is ducted and 4 streets away for the BT exchange, (2 main roads, then 2 in the housing estate). Address 1 is miles away and used to be much more awkward. Telent did the area for address 2 for BT in an afternoon as it's all ducted/chambered correctly and had no issues. (at the time) I'm hoping it's not an issue for exchange cab space or something silly :( I'd trade Virgin+FFL for Netomnia :ROFLMAO:

I also wonder if this is BT limiting how many PIA providers per area? but also doesn't make sense as that's opposite for my 2 examples. (Addr1 has an extra PIA provider in Virgin)

Is there anything I can do about YouFibre once saying my property was planned months ago to now no longer even though houses about 30 metres away on the same side of the street have access this week?

All I think you can do is register your interest. My mate has the same problem, he is no more than 20 meters from the manhole at the end of my street.

As this is an active thread, i’ll ask this question here: on the Netomnia rollout map, there are large pink/magenta highlighted areas, alongside the triangles, circles and stars marking exchanges they are rolling out in. Do the shaded areas represent areas they will be building in at some point in the future? EG if an exchange is within the shaded segments, its somewhere that might be covered by their network? The legend does not give any detaild about this.

Anyone got some ideas about the above? I’ve assumed lack of reply was probably due to nobody knowing the answer though, but if someone does know, it’d be great 🙏

AFAIK the Triangle/Star are the Exchange/pop in use. I think the pink boarder is just like a catchment area for that exchange, rather than what's in/out of scope if that makes sense.

e.g. near me, the exchange covers lots of smaller villages out of town and I doubt there's any intention of rolling out there. It also stops after where I'd expect the next exchange to overlap (but I'm not sure that exchange is staying in BT's long term plans - also I guess it depends if they always want to go back to the "local" exchange each time for each area, in this instance there's 1 Main A-road between the two exchanges so having the next town over connect via my local exchange may help keep costs down.)

My area is also blanket covered as I'm right next to the exchange (2 main roads, ducted, 2 housing estate streets, ducted away) - and as above I'm not in plan.

HTH - but I have no inside knowledge and it's just my interpretation of the data displayed there. I'm sure if someone knows they'll come in and correct me now I've given an answer ;)

Ahhhh thats very interesting. It would explain why I'm seeing Netomnia works that are attributed to one of their POP's, despite us being many miles away from that POP! I guess there's not much I can do other than keep an eye out to see if they decide to build their network in my area and, if they do so, order the service via YouFibre once it is RFS. Thank you!

@Matt_2k34 I put my details into Netomnia's checker and it looks like they are in the planning phase, so appears they might be looking to build to my area. Seems consistent with the major town near me having a ton of planned "CABLING" or "TRR" works from Netomnia starting later this year or during Q1 2025, so might reach us in a year or so, which would be exciting!

The map isn't 100% accurate in some places, Like above the dots are exchanges they are building in for set area around it,
For example they have build in Winchburgh but isn't quite covered by the map

Oh wow, I didn't realise they'd built their network in Winchburgh, though it makes sense with all the new housing schemes that have been built -- and are continuing to be built -- there in the last 5 years or so, especially as they're likely targeting the many commuters and families who would have requirements for a YouFibre service over the Openreach or VM networks. I guess that gives me some hope that they will reach me as well (I don't live on that side of Edinburgh). Thanks for the guidance!!

Thought I'd check the devtools again for my property and was surprised to see I have a build status now (it was null before). Probably means nothing and there's still no timeline as to when I may get service (Netomnia chambers installed last year and a crew a few doors down attempting to clear BT duct blockages), but I guess the possibility of getting service has increased again.

I live in a small town with only Virgin as an option for fast fibre (I want to avoid them if at all possible) so have been on FTTC for years, supplemented last year with 5G load balancing. This works for most of my needs, but uploading data to remote servers is the blocker as both my connections can only handle 10-12 megabits upload each.

This is good though, things at least being marked as not "null" is nice. I am in the position where you used to be, so hopefully that means my "null" will disappear at some point also :love:

Fingers crossed you get through 6,7, and 8 soon :)
