Routing problems?

Are there any other Supanet subscribers here?

Are you having problems getting some websites/services?
I've lost access to some, notably msn.com and conferences.cixonline.com, which are the two that are the main nuisance since I use them for email. There are a range of others, I can't see any unifying element about them, but then life's too short to track it all down, I'm fairly sure it's a Supanet routing problem from the traceroutes I've done.

Is anyone else having these problems?

I had the problem about ten days ago and emailed support, got no reply of course but "coincidentally" the problem went away within a couple of hours.
It's started again at the tail end of last week, but no magic fix following the email this time.

I'm not a supanet subscriber but it sounds like your ISPs DNS servers might be the problem. One solution is to switch them for the free and far better OpenDNS.org servers instead. It's actually quite easy to do, just visit OpenDNS.org and follow the guide.

I'm fairly certain it's Supanet's routing.
I don't use their DNS server(s), using those at my website host instead. The "occasional & repeated" dropout alone makes me think this, would the DNS entry come and go, twice so far?

I've been recommended trying a proxy, which I think would sort it out, I just haven't got a round tuit yet.

I thought to ask the question here because if (an)other Supanet subscribers were around and reported similar things then that also would help diagnosis.
As you may know Supanet have no internal forums, can't have users talking to each other of course :shrug:
