RWG offering eSIMs, and Multi Network SIMs and Unlimited Data

I wish O2 were as efficient, I'm still waiting on my eSIM arriving by post.🙄

Might be the Royal Mail though, so can't blame O2 100%.😊

I doubt RWG have replaced their billing system, and they still have the bit about sharing your data allowance between multiple SIMs on their data sim page.

These 2 things combined mean it's very easy to get your account into a state where they don't seem to have any clue what's going on especially if you have a mix of yearly and monthly SIMs.

Their system also couldn't handle changing card details requiring a new order against the same number and hope they tie it to the existing sim properly and don't then suspend everything for non-payment when the old subscription fails.

There's also no way to track usage (or at least there wasn't) so no way to know which SIMs are pooled and which aren't.etc I think nearly everything is handled manually there.

They are probably OK if you want 1 or 2 sims, and it's not your primary number, but otherwise I'd avoid them.

It's a shame because it was a decent price for pooled data.

What does the network name appear as at the top of the screen I'm assuming Gamma or is it RWG?

I'm assuming IP address would be Three?
It appears as Gamma Stewart. :)

Are you not an O2 360 customer?

My eSIM QR was generated in minutes.

So do I need to buy a new bundle to shift my RWG yearly sim to an eSIM?

I am chrisyyw, but it didn't work online for me, don't know what happened. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve ordered the multi-network SIM on the 1GB tariff to see how it works.

Will report back when it arrives in the post.

The non-eu roaming charges are too high.

Edit: the multi-network sims are data only.

Had a bit of a chance to play around with it now and it's not great. It's a SIM from tele2.se that roams across all 4 networks. There's no capability to make phone calls or send SMS and the ping is trash, assuming it's because traffic is being routed via Sweden.
  • Three - Looks like it's their preferred roaming partner in the UK
  • EE - Connects and I have 4G access (not bad speeds either)
  • O2 - 3G only
  • Vodafone - 2G only (assuming it was 2G/3G only but 3G is switched off)
In order to connect to O2 or Vodafone you have to change the APN to 'key' or you get no data.

Incredibly unfortunate to see that it's 2G/3G on O2 and Vodafone, still helpful for an EE/Three backup though

Last year I tested EasySim and initially O2 would only use 3G. Next day 4G was available.

Maybe this eSIM is 2G/3G only for VF and O2, but check again tomorrow, it might be different.

I'll double check in the morning, it's a physical SIM rather than an eSIM.

I called RWG about an issue with the APN issue, someone was supposed to call me back but that didn't happen. I wonder if I'll get a call back tomorrow.

Update: O2 4G is now working and I have 5G access on Vodafone 🥳

That's better did you have to change anything or did it just start working?

No changes, it just started working of it’s own accord.

How do you check your remaining data?

No idea, you can’t online and the SMS commands on the SIM pack don’t work.
