Samsung Fold6

Disaster! I went to use my Fold6 today, opened it to the main screen it flickered and then died! Now the internal screen won't turn back on at all, the phone hasn't been dropped or got wet.

A quick Google and it seems this happens to them frequently? Anyone had any experience of the Samsung repair service via EE / authorized repair centers?

Yes, I had my S24 ultra repaired.
DPD collected it on a Monday it was back by Friday.
It had a new main board fitted.

I've opted to take it into EE (authorized repair center) on Monday. Hopefully they can do it there and then or I'll have to wait for them to send it off.

Fair enough, although a Fold is a specialist job.
I would say it's quicker to go via Samsung.
My Fold 4 is still working nicely btw

Allegedly if they’ve got the parts they can do it while you wait otherwise they can send it off.

Well, that's impressive

I have only seen a folding phone once which my sister showed me a couple of years back, interesting idea, but looking at the Samsung prices, O_o.

A phone of this value I would be sending to the manufacturer.

Samsung don’t repair their own phones, they use TMTFirst or EE as authorized service centers.

If all else fails, just dug out my home insurance policy and I named it as a high risk item so less £100 I’ll get a replacement or a cheque in the post.

Dropped my phone into the EE authorized repair center today at 11:15, had a text back from them at 13:00 to pick it up.

Screen and battery replaced and the phone software updated. Got an email from ‘Samsung’ to say thank you for using their service centre.

The flexible glass along the fold had shattered, it’s not unknown for this to happen on the Fold and Flip series apparently. The guy who booked the phone in was unsurprised when I handed it all over, ‘great phone but we get so many of them come back like this’

Pretty impressive service, all genuine parts and the warranty is unaffected.

You'll not get much better service than that garetc. (y)
