Scancom EE sim

I'm having an issue at the moment where I can't see anything posted on Facebook in the last few hours and also. can't get Reddit app to load my feed. These are both on my Android phone and my wife's iphone.

Furthermore, I can't get either to load on my Windows 11 laptop, I just get the message -

This site can’t provide a secure connection

The client and server don't support a common SSL protocol version or cipher suite.

I did some searching and came to the conclusion that there must be a parental block but as this is a Scancom EE card, I can't access the settings. I contacted Scancom and they said, "It's all sorted, give it 24 hours then restart router a few times and Bob's your uncle". Obviously I've paraphrased that!

So here we are, 24 hours and a few restarts later and it's still the same. I have a Lebara card for backup and everything works fine with that so before I complain to Amazon (where I purchased the sim), has anyone got any ideas?

My Scancom EE SIM Is working just fine. I don't have a Facebook account but I can access the homepage just fine, and I can load Reddit including new posts without any problems whatsoever.

This is both on a phone and on a computer. Both without any prior communication with Scancom to remove content filters or anything like that.

That's weird then as mine is definitely pi**ing me about

Does this sim work OK for other websites such as https://www.bbc.co.uk/news

If it works for other SSL sites that might help with the troubleshooting

Are you using a VPN in your 5G router or on the devices, if so disable the VPN while you troubleshoot.

Maybe factory reset the 5G router to clear any settings that are in there from your previous sim and try the EE sim again.

I would contact Scancom on Monday, they are really helpful.

Good luck as it is frustrating when things don't work as expected.

There is another post with the same problem,
it was content lock on the sim, look at CarlO1460 posts.

I was getting this, the had to remove all the content locks and it worked fine after they removed them. Not sure why they were applied but everything back to normal.

I was considering Scancom's EE sim.
I saw their fair usage policy which says the monthly usage is capped at 600GB / month
I telephoned them and they told me that when 600GB is reached the sim is deactivated for the remainder of the month.
