Second Line and Connection

My home setup is capable of load balancing multiple internet connnection, currently I have a FTTC 50/10 and also a 4G Connection with a smarty sim @ £16 a month for unlimited data and between the two I can achieve around 80-100Mb but the latency and reliability of the 4G connection can vary massively I was wonder does any one know of any good way of getting a new line and broadband connection so I can replace the 4G with a fixed line solution at a reasonable price

I believe you can order another line from your current provider and ask them to bond them, you'd be getting double the speed this way.

Bonding two FTTC lines would be very expensive and not all ISPs will offer such a service (requires a special router). You usually have to ask first. In addition, when you bond two lines, then expect to lose some performance on the second line due to various factors (it won't double your speed).

Thanks guys, I am already do this so it not really the tech I’m looking at and it’s load balancing not bonding I’m doing I guess my questions is more to where can a get an extremely cheap or free installation of a new line and package

I think most of the major ISPs offer this. BT unfortunately add baggage. Possibly cheapest is Vodafone but best to check routers and whether bridge mode is available to avoid kit cost.

A good second line pair and FTTC availability is the dependency so react quick within the 14 days if service is not effective.

That a good point would I able to cancel and get a refund on a new install with in the first 14 days if I wasent entirely happy with the service?

Currently got Virgin+three 3G here, but the last place I had a Sky and a Talk Talk line in load balancing via my router (Sophos UTM).

Getting the second line was easy - I actually ordered Vodafone because they had free installation. Openreach came along and replaced the cable from the pole as the old one was tired. He set up the two lines on the same cable using two of the pairs, breaking out into two OR wall boxes in the house. I didn't notice any slowdown or interference from them not using separate cables (that had been my worry). I used my own VDSL modems (netgear) and fed into the UTM PC.

Vodafone speed was great, but their porn filter played havoc with some of the (non-porn!) sites I was using, blocking all sorts of images and not being able to fully turn it off, so cancelled in the cooling off period and replaced with Sky.

At the time (3 years ago) it was coming in at about £40/month all in for the 2 lines (40mb tier as my lines wouldn't go much past 30).
