Settings for Three on Mikrotik LHG LTE?

Hi all,

Have picked up a Mikrotik external router/antenna off a friend. He hadn't used it in a while and it was reset to factory settings.

I'm going to swap my Three mobile broadband SIM into it, but any advice on how to actually get it going, I know there is a bar with LTE settings etc.

Just a foolproof guide if anyone already has done same, APN etc?

Much appreciated.

Apn just needs to be set at three.co.uk or 3internet

No username or password required

Edit: to Log into the router itself, connect to it via wifi/Ethernet and head to 192.168.88.1 no username required but router login password should be admin if set to default

It's worthwhile using Mikrotik's "Winbox" application to manage the router. It's a mobile application, you don't need to install it just download the exe and run it.
Default username is "admin" with no password.
You need to configure the APN first under ...
Interface / LTE / LTE APNs

Then apply that to the interface itself ..
Interfaces / lte1 / General.

Legend, this is exactly what I needed!!

And for three.co.uk is also ipv6 support for it to function freely at globally busy times, probably you will not use this one unless you prefer changing IP addresses often or just want to use another IP without VPN etc

I use the "3internet" APN because that's the only one that gives a native IP address (IPv4). The alternative "three.co.uk" used CGNAT.
Some have reported performance differences, but I don't find any at my location, so I have gone for the real IP address option.
I don't have IPv6 enabled at the moment, but might give that a try to see what I get.

I'd also make sure you upgrade the packages and routerboard to latest stable versions.

Also update the LTE firmware to latest version.

Have you managed to get full IPv6 working on MikroTik gear? I can't seem to get a v6 address from Three at all!

I'm still on an old B535 but make sure you've set ipv type to V6 and that the following is true
APN Valuethree.co.uk
DNS172.30.139.17 - 172.31.139.17

what's everyone using in their LHG LTE?

I currently have a R11e-LTE6, but I'm going to test my R11e-LTE, Quectel EC25 and my EM12G when it arrives
