Should 21CN WBC enabled improve my connection speed?

Earlier this month my local rural exchange went 21CN WBC enabled. Since I believe that this means that I can use ADSL2+ should I not be seeing some improvement to my internet speeds. There are no LLU operats on the exchange.

My 5yr+ service provider is Namesco & I pay for the 2gb package although I was recently sent a email that said that they would provide me with the highest speed available which the BT tester on their broadband front page says, & has said for at least the last year, is between 2 & 3kpbs.

Can I get more?

I am using a Netgear DG834Gv3 which could do with a firmware update but I have been reluctant to do it until I need to.

My downstream line data is Connection speed 2432kpbs, line attenuation 47db, noise margin 12db.

My upstream line data is Connection speed 448kpbs, line attenuation 25.5db, noise margin 22db.

Well, your noise margin is above the 6dB default used by BT, that probably means BT's line management system has raised the target margin, which results in a lower sync rate, to make your line more stable because of noise, if you are lucky, that will mostly be a result of your phone extensions, in which case you can improve it.

If you've got a NTE5 master socket which has a split front panel that you can unscrew and unplug the lower half from, plug your router in the test socket and check if you get either a higher sync rate, or the noise margin goes up, either of which would indicate that your phone extension wiring has affected your sync speed. If you don't have a NTE5, or it is inconvenient to plug into the test socket behind the NTE, but you do have phone extensions, try disconnecting the ring wire from the back of the master socket.

There's a good guide on improving your wiring here:- http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/socket.htm

On such a line I doubt that moving from an ADSLMAX to ADSL2+ link will make much of a difference.
