I bought 2 TP Link MR600 v3 4G+ routers, one for home and one for work. I was using a Lebara sim in one and a three in the other. I have just ordered another three business sim to replace Lebara.
The routers have been a breath of fresh air compared to the locked down ones provided on contract. My concern is that maybe I should have gone all in and bought 5G capable routers.
The speeds I'm getting at home compare well with what I had with Sky at home and the one at work is much faster than TalkTalk with upload speed, but they are nowhere near what I see people posting on here. Home with Lebara is ~ 15.5up/47.4down and work Three is 17.7up/23.1down (previous was around 0.7/20). I have a Vodafone contract and at home on get 4G+ on my S23, so am not sure if a 5G router here would make any difference. Saying that I will be switching to three shortly and don't know if I can get 5G. I checked the three map and it suggests I can get 5G at work, but I'm between 2 outdoor and indoor areas at home, so I just shows as outdoor only.
Is there anything I can do to boost the speeds I get with the TP link routers, or would it be worth looking at better models possibly with 5G? If so what would be a good router?
