SIMs

Hi!
I only joined this forum recently, I joined because of my interest in telecommunications and such, mainly things like mobile networks. One of the things related to this is my slightly unusual hobby; I am a SIM card collector. I collect SIM cards for the designs, as one may collect stamps or coins.
I do use some of them, mainly for testing roaming and such.

I would like to ask if anyone has SIMs and could take a picture and send it(of course censoring any details 🙃) from smaller networks like Zoiko, Co-op, Spusui, iQ, etc. Or old/defunct networks like CTUniq.

This is mainly for deciding if the designs are worth getting and for catalogue purposes.

An example page of my UK cards. I currently have ~250 unique international designs.

Of course, If anyone has any old or expired cards, I would be happy to take them;)

If anyone has any questions or would like to see more, feel free to ask.

Is there any UK ones that you don't have? Do you have the new Vodafone PAYG SIM with the forest design or an anywhere SIM?

Love it! How far do they go back?
According to Wikipedia, the oldest ones were from 1991, they were the same size and similar system to something like phonecards or bank cards.
My ones dont go near that far back though. Oldest ones I've got personally are probably my BT Cellnet SIMs, or my test SIMs from when the Polish "Plus" network was first being built.

Ahhh I remember the BT Cellnet ones! I forgot all about their grey and white branding!

In terms of designs, hundreds. There is much more than you might imagine out there, even in just the UK. Old designs, different logos, variants, etc.
However in terms of operators, which is more appropriate to focus on here, yes there is still many I dont have.
In recent memory defunct ones like BT, TalkTalk Mobile, Plusnet mobile, Virgin mobile, Cuniq,
or ones like zoiko (ordered but taking strangely long to arrve), iQ, your Coop, spusu, new Honest, sky, 1p, ecotalk.
Most networks that dont offer relatively cheap entry PayG SIMs I dont have, but I am slowly working through them.

There is also older ones that I am looking for, such as mobile by Sainsburys, iCard mobile, tpo/Peoples Operator, Post Office mobile, Nomi.

Yes, I have loads of the vodafone forest design. It's PayG and really easy to get:)

Unfortunately I do not have an anywhere SIM.

Here is two I have, the 1p mobile one is currently in use so cannot show the actual SIM card which is in a device. The logos on the SIM card are the same as on the top of the card.

I have lots of smarty, but I've not really seen a 1p SIM since they don't offer actual free SIMs, didn't think it was worth it. Thanks

Here is my SIM Card collection. my favourites are the Three, Vodafone, and Lebara ones. I have the packaging for several of them (the Three one didn't want to open neatly). Other ones I would like to get are Lyca Mobile, Tesco and ASDA mobile.

I suppose you did, I now have a Lyca SIM and an ASDA sim card packaging (no nano sim as it is currently in my mums phone but she might be going onto them permanently with a plan so I suspect they will send another SIM out). I have a Tesco locally so will pick that one up soon. Colnect is somewhere I am currently looking at from your recommendation. I might get a Superdrug one at some point and use it for a month just for the collection and some more Three network testing. I am sure EE have a newer packaging design for the SIMs than the one I got (will check in Tesco when I get the Tesco mobile one). The 1p mobile sim I have is currently in my iPhone as a secondary data line along with VOXI as my main.

Now have a Tesco sim and packaging, awaiting some wallets for my folder I plan to put all the SIM card collection in.

I still have a Post Office SIM laying around somewhere. My most recent SIM is Turkcell from this summer. Do you have a old Blyk SIM in the collection by any chance?

How the SIM card collection now looks. Awaiting some plastic wallets for the packaging so that can be displayed.

What folder is this? Where can I buy one?
It is just an ordinary ring binder with some coin collecting pocket sheets, mum purchased the sheets for the folder so will have to ask what size of pocket she ordered, I did have a look when out today in Norwich to see if there were any different sims to what I had but couldn't find any (bar a slightly revised EE packet which I might get at some point). Have got some with larger pockets coming for the different packaging designs.

Completely different question.

How much do you use Voxi vs 1p? Curious on why that setup/packages.

I use VOXI as my main line as have got a good deal with them and have found their coverage to be more extensive of my town. In places where EE was stronger (rare I have to use it) I switch over. I used to be with EE but they got really expensive and wanted a change but do still want access to EE. My old plan with EE was £25 but now pay £20 for access to two networks.
