I thought it was a taboo to purchase british electrical goods, japanese all the way!

Don't get me started......

Everything you pick up these days says "Made in China" on it. :hrmph:

Whatever happened to the Buy British campaign?

All this outsourcing / making stuff out in the Far East is great for the consumer (ok maybe not all the outsourcing) but does nothing for manufacturing in the uk. This strategy to me smacks of short term gain - long term pain!

well ideally in the long term workers will move out of manufacturing (and let manufacturing die) and into areas which britain is good at working on.
Obviously the problem is we currently dont have one, plus we all import like crazy. As a result britain has a trade deficit of 6.8 billion pounds.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18072805/

The best jobs are taken by people who ship all other jobs offshore. :D
Think we can all become MPs and have a seat in parliment that way the government might work better :)

If you mean the ghastly amstrad emailer thingy, then I believe it costs around 20p a day in premium rate call charges and will stop working if you've barred premium rate numbers on your line.

A group of people are working on recycling the E3 so the hardware can be put to other uses http://www.whitakernet.com/e3/

Well it's defintley one of Amstrad's own brand phones, makes you wonder if it's a bit of free advertising for them.

I feel sorry for Alan Sugar. This bunch of apprentices are the worst I've ever seen.

If you watch their pre-interviews for the show on the bbc 2 website, they do not live up to anything their say, or deliver like they did on their speeches.

About manufacturing, don't worry, outsourcing to China is only a temporary thing. As the Chinese begin increasing their consumption for goods we take for granted as cheap, the cost of these goods will increase and manufacturing jobs come back to Britain.

As the chinese improve technologically, they may also start manufacturing high quality goods such as plane engines etc... which means the price of these goods starts going down, whilst goods we took for granted, such as cheap shoes starts going up. We remain competitive in goods with added value, thus can charge premium prices for goods. Just imagine those jeans from China, perfectly made, and only £4 from Asda. Yet, another pair of jeans handmade in the UK, ripped, dirtied etc... can fetch 20x that amount...

I don't know what phone Sir Alan uses because I've given up on the show after that kissing episode.

A talent show it is not...

Im going to show my age now....

There was a time when everything you picked up was "Made in Birmingham" (yes even in the far east where I was stationed and places I visited out there)......

I remember buying an ornament model of the Eiffel tower in France....... and blow me..... it had "Made in Birningham" on the bottom of it.

What goes around, comes around, I suppose
